Zverev goes out hanging his head, and well he should. Player with one foot in the grave shows him up. As I said above, he should learn from a more committed player.

Wow, Ferru way to go on your way out!

Well at least he recognizes when it's time to hang 'em up! He's going out in style upsetting the #2 seed; Sasha Z.! That FH of Zev's gets rather shaky when in a tussle! Shame; gonna have to have a very uncomfortable chat with Lendl later! This is inexcusable; Ferrer has no real weapon besides his feet! :nono:  :banghead: :cuckoo:

This has always been incorrect about Ferrer. He has a very solid serve, and a world-class inside out FH. But he's about a tough an out as there is, in the head, not counting Rafa. This is one thing Zverev and a lot of the kids need to learn from. Train hard, and focus, point in and point out.

Superb game by Ferru, he has had Zverev like a puppet, he even has played excelente at the net. It seems like his soon retirement has given him more confidence and out of stress. Hope he will continue as well :good:

Lendl should have spanked him 2 months ago when he played like crap at the AO.
zed is worse than early murray with his mental demons..

maybe an old school slap across the face from lendl could free his mind. :boxing::spank:

Good point. People act as if Ferrer offers nothing but wheels. The "energizer bunny" appellation is a bit insulting. (Sorry, @kskate2 )
You think it's insulting to always be up and never down point after point? That's a compliment that many youngsters could learn from. I don't understand your need to nitpick everything.

I must say, while I always want Roger to win every tournament he plays, and my two favorite NextGenners--Aliassime and Rublev--are still alive, I would love to see Ferrer somehow pull this off and sail into the sunset with his second big title.

Agreed that would be amazing. However, I think he will lose to Tiafoe. Even in recent years he has been able to play a good match or two. The problem is that gets too tired. But you never know.
