I feel like we don't talk enough about Thiem as a potential slam winner and future number 1. The guy really has it

Murray seems to be playing nervous and safe but manages to take the 2nd set. Whew...

I like Thiem. That single hander is a beaut.

It's a beauty.. Seems to have the same sort of stability that Stan's has. Not saying it's as good, but you just feel like there's no risk of a shank like you sometimes get with Roger's. And btw.. I'm not even saying it's better than Rogers. Just looks so solid

Solid stuff from Andy. Brought the big stuff and put Thiem in his place. He still has a lot to learn. Got to improve his second serve and be a bit more controlled with his shot selection

Well put. I'm glad Andy prevailed -- and figured he would, even after dropping the first set -- but I'm happy to see Thiem making progress. I look forward to seeing him on clay.

Good start to the day! Now Berdych, Nishikori and Ferrer can complete my dream Masters semi.

Agreed. I think he has the solid strokes to do well on clay. In fact I think it might do him a lot of good. He could learn a lot about how to become more effective and consistent from the baseline

Andy does his usual sleepy set trick, this time in the first when it's usually in the second, but at the end of the day, another win, another semi final to come, I'm happy.

Big fan of Thiem, hopefully he keeps getting the deep runs in these tournaments, so long as it isn't at the expense of Mr Murray. He's certainly a prime candidate for my favoured player once the aforementioned Scot hangs up his racket.

Pico takes advantage, finally, of a poor service game from Berdych. Back on serve. Had he not, I think that would have been the end of him.

Berdych bounces right back and takes the first set 6-3! One more set and we get another Murray-Berdych semi.

I remember seeing Thiem play Rafa at RG last year and being very impressed with both his play and his attitude, even though he lost in straights. He kept fighting, even though he was being outplayed. His attitude impressed me just as much as that single handed bh! Andy practises with him a lot and he says Thiem has a great attitude off-court too and works very hard.

I'd rather have novocaine-free dental surgery than watch John Isner play tennis.

Did anyone else hear the commentators the other night on the Tennis Channel talk about his comment to his coach, Justin Gimelstob? Isner said something like, "I want to take the tennis out of tennis."

Just got in. From the score, it seems Kei's having a little tougher time returning serve. :)
