Hello guys!

I'm very sorry but I'm just going to go off-topic on your thread. I just thought I needed to say a few things.

I know you liked to share dementia jokes but you packed in sharing them when you found out that my Dad had dementia. I didn't want to spoil your fun. I just told the truth. Thank you very much for your consideration. I really appreciate it.

It's very hard when you're in the middle of it. It's very hard to deal with. It's not just the amnesia & the confusion, it's the constant arguments & the dangerous things people with dementia do & you can't always stop them. They keep you up until late at night & wake you up early in the morning. You can't sleep anyway worrying what they're doing when you're in bed. They forget who you are sometimes & you get told to get out of your house.

I just need to get repairs done then I can move on.

He broke the door-step. He broke the sink unit so put another 1 up but didn't plumb it up properly. It collapsed a few weeks ago so we had to have a support job done until we can get repairs done properly. 1 of our kitchen cupboards is held up by a screwdriver. (You have to see it to believe it.) He damaged the walls & blocked air-vents which we need because we have gas. He removed a drain-pipe to drain water from the sink down the drain. It wasn't funny at the time but now I know it's over & I can get things sorted out & move on I can laugh about it.
