Rafa was on decline from the moment he lost the 2014 AO finals to the beginning of the Asian season in 2015. Too bad that Roger never got to play against that version of Rafa even once.

Federer got his shot against Rafa in Oz, before his back went. Don't be looking for him to always face a sub-par Rafa... :cover

That was before the decline. Come on.

Exactly, and he beat your boy handy. You should be looking for Federer to beat the best, not players who are struggling... ;)

Well, reading that article confirms that the largest problem Rafa had was confidence, which was something that I remember a certain Novak fan saying wasn't the case. But of course, everything improves when a player feels confident, and Rafa is getting there...

I hope all of Rafa's confidence issues are gone and this is just his new level :snicker

If so, it's a good thing for Novak!

So Rafa is back? In a way I guess he is. He seems to be getting to the SF and finals more regularly. He's at the Ferrer level now I suppose. But the question whether he will get back to the Djokovic level has hardly been answered. The one thing that gives Nadal fans hope I suppose would be that this is traditionally the time when he struggles. If he is doing this well in the worst part of the season for him, what will he do when the clay season comes next April?

Rafa being so candid about his lack of confidence may turn out to be the biggest "injury" he has ever had to recover from IMO. It's has provided both the locker room bulletin boards and the blueprint of "How to conquer Nadal." Someone from his camp should have try to defuse those comments by saying he was misquoted or lost in translation.

The same he did this year. As he ages, he will be a better HC player than clay. :lolz:

I don't know about that! I'm starting to think Nadal will have a much better clay season next year. I'm not ready to say he will be a favorite for the FO though. Maybe after he wins the WTF.

The incline could improve if he's able to trash ennemy Lukas in 2 this afternoon (6/2 6/3 for ex), can't wait to see this match

I don't think Paris can affect the Incline. He's shown enough already that he's reaching semis and finals without approaching his best, that he's on a definite upswing...

Agree with you but I'ld like to see him beating Rosol with some conviction here

I see a pattern here. Murray fans are not fans of Rosol:laydownlaughing

You know what I mean Carol. Sometime during the match Rosol always starts complaining about something. And then Nadal retaliates by complaining about something. And Rosol has no reponse so he knocks over Nadal's immaculately placed water bottles. :laydownlaughing
