Ladies Final,
Center Court,starting at 2.30pm.

Karolina Pliskova (9) vs Iga Swiatek (15)

H2H Iga 1-0 2019 s/final clay Lugano.

No 9th seed Karolina Pliskova is back into the final for the third straight year (won the title in 2019)

Iga Swiatek defeated Elina Svitolina and Coco Gauff over a span of seven hours to reach the second biggest final of her career.

Hoping for a competitive final good luck to both players.....I am leaning towards Iga in this final.

I think Iga, too, plus I want her to go into RG ready to defend. Pliskova is rather a surprise, given surface.

This is her third straight final in Rome for Pliskova, fast clay courts in Rome (when sunny) do suit her and her serve, fhand
BTW Iga has been stalking Rafa in Rome at the practice courts....she really has a big crush on him:)

Oh, dear. Like AP on Friday, someone forgot to give Pliskova her wake-up call. Or to wake up her serve. Swiatek is one set away from feeding her a double bagel.

I always felt K Pliskova had head case issues.
Pliskova played so poorly, she looked ill, but she wasn't. Swiatek, however, was focused and fantastic. Oh, and she gets into the top 10 with this win, I think.

No need to talk about that non competitive match.. Swiatek is a true clay court problem solver. Coco outplayed her in the first set yet she still couldn't win the tbr.

46 minutes that match took. Pliskova able to smile now, and says she's going to just try to forget this match.

I still think Sacha would be better for Madison Keys..It's just a matter of time because she changes coaches like a baby changes diapers.

KS was correct as usual about Svitolina...I think I became a follow of Gael and herself. I will have to lower my expectations for her to win a slam.

I went to have a nap before the final and I over slept LOL!

Mami Mia a double bagel what the hell happened to Pliskova?

I will be able to watch the match later as my TV channel replays both the ladies and mens final

Congratulations Iga with this win you will be in the Top 10 and a great boost in confidence going into RG as defending champion!

The silver lining is timewise its not the quickest double bagel in a WTA final. That gem belings to the 32 minute shellacking Graff gave Natasha Zvereva at the 1988 FO final.

Who am i kidding? There is no silver lining.

When you think that Iga saved 2MPs in her round 16 match at Rome, after that she got stronger and with more self belief.,it is the best tournament I have seen her play all year and it is a fine tune up for her defence at Roland Garos.
Welcome to the Top Ten by the way Iga you deserve to be there!!

Pliskova's post- match comments,

"I will just quickly forget about today".
