They just don't worry me unless it's BO3 on HC! Novak still the 2nd best clay courter of this era! He's done the most damage to stop Rafa from winning all clay events; sometimes in straight sets believe it or not! Watching repeat and there's lit'l if any rust on his game! Stefanos dd his best!
Fiero, As the late great Chicagoan the Mac Man Bernie Mac said about his sister's kids who was staying with him, " you starting to make my Ass Itch!". How can you EVER say anything about Novak's clay court meetings vs Rafa on clay the way Rafa destroyed him at RG 2020. Rafa did the same thing to Roger at RG 08.

He has played Nadal on clay probably more than anyone. Novak has lost at more tournaments than anyone. I don't get what your point was saying he done most damage Nadal on clay.

I give up! You're hopeless! I specified clay & U still don't have a clue! FINE! You forgot Novak's 2 wins @ RG & the Masters finals defeat'n Rafa! :astonished-face:
Okay ...you said that Novak had "done more damage to anyone else on clay". Did you say that Yes or No.. YES

I showed you Rafa has defeated Novak more than any other player he faced on clay but somehow you won't accept or acknowledge that. Yet you call me hopeless. Dude,. When you make statement like Novak is the Rafa stopper on clay, that's ludicrous. Look at the numbers on clay.

You are so giddy trying to hype up Novak and lessened Rafa's accomplishments but you trip yourself up. I don't know why noOne else is saying anything or maybe you have made their ass itch with your misguided hatred of Nadal.

What he said was that Novak had "done the most damage to stop Rafa winning all clay events." You have to say that is true. Even if it took him playing a lesser Rafa, he stopped him twice at RG. And he beat him in finals at Madrid, Rome and MC, so that's 3 titles Nadal would otherwise have had. Who else has done this? I don't begrudge that Novak is the 2nd best clay player of this era. He is. He's just behind Rafa by a lot.

"Had done the most damage" ..he has played Rafa on clay more than anyone..Rafa H2H has twice as many victories on clay over Novak..

I know what Fiero is trying to say but even a dead clock tells the correct time twice a day.

Rafa has lost very little on clay, and to very few players. The guy he's lost the most to, and most importantly, is Novak. He's not wrong. Has Rafa capped him far more on clay? Yes he has. Has he beaten him comprehensively on clay? Yes he has. But has any one player been more dangerous on clay to Nadal than Djokovic? No. I'm just being fair to what he stated.

Fiero.Novak has played Rafa more than Anyone wouldn't it make logical sense that he has more wins on clay than anyone else? Can someone other than sis Moxie please tell me what I am missing ? I bet Roger may be the next closest with clay court victories against Nadal. WHY? Because they have played over 20 times . Duh?

Unfortunately true, and all credit to Novak that he’s the only player we ever really feared on clay. His results against Rafa - including two victories at RG - are a constant worry…

Even Uncle Tony has admitted there's no game plan when it comes to competing against Novak! Nadal just has to grind it out the best he can! :fearful-face:

Unfortunately true, and since 2011 Novak has always been the only player we ever worried about on clay, and for good reason.

It used to be we were certain that the most difficult thing in sport was to beat Rafa over five on clay, because it was true, but now we’re at the last days of Rafa and he’s not guaranteed to win over five against Novak, even if he’s fit. It just is what it is, a trajectory, a steady progress versus a slow decline, but Novaks professionalism and honesty and determination to succeed at the very highest level against the very best players, anywhere in the world, have gotten him in the position where, since 2010 he’s only 10-8 behind in H2H matches against Rafa on clay, including those two victories over him in Paris.

He hasn’t been a thorn in Rafa’s side, he’s been a spear!

Sorry @Fiero425 - I quoted the wrong post in my reply, and that’s why I deleted it. You’re correct in what you’re saying about Novak versus Rafa on clay, most especially since 2011, but none of us forget that great match they had in 2009 in Madrid, which surely proved to Novak that he could get to Rafa on the dirt…

Tell AP! THE child is delusional AF! Tried to gaslight me on my statements about the subject! Like other crabby old men, I could tell him "I've forgotten more about tennis history than you'll ever know!" I couldn't believe the dispute! It made no sense! The record's online if he didn't believe my knowledge! :astonished-face: :fearful-face: :shushing-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth:

I think he knows, brother, it’s just hard truth for us to swallow right now :lulz1:

But you know, it would be easier for us if Rafa was on form heading into Paris, we’d be less concerned, we’d actually be confident, but now everything is uncertain, mainly because Rafa has once more fecked himself over with stupid scheduling, and it seems it’s too late in the day for him to learn, in this regard.

But also because Novak has peaked at the right time, and Carlos will be a huge threat to everyone, if he makes the second week…

What's delusional about repetition! Acourse Novak's victories vs Rafa is more than anyone else because they have met on clay more than Rafa has faced anyone else. Whereas Rafa has defeated Novak on clay more than he has defeated anyone else. More than 2 to 1 ratio. If the ratio was reversed I could see the poster's perspective.

The posters perspective is that Novak has “done the most damage to stop Rafa from winning all clay events” - and that’s true!

Rafa’s only real danger on clay since his debut has been Novak, who’s given him all his most agonising moments on the surface, except for the Soderling match.

Since Novak peaked, after 2010, the H2H is only 10-8 to Rafa, with four victories and two defeats at RG…
