Dodig def. DelBonis 6-3, 6-4.
You would expect more from Del Bonis on clay.

Dimitrov - Roger-Vasselin a very tight match, 1 set a piece and on serve in the 3ed.
ERV is a very good serve-volleyer, Dimi not as his best therefore this will be a tight one to the end.

Grigor was upset with the towels at Rome...

ROME — Grigor Dimitrov overcame a slow start and sweaty hands to beat 45th-ranked Edouard Roger-Vasselin of France 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the first round of the Italian Open on Monday.

The 14th-ranked Dimitrov, a Bulgarian who at 22 is the youngest player in the top 20, did not take well to the red-and-white towels at the Foro Italico.

"They're new and they don't absorb any sweat," he said. "Three or four times I was about to lose my racket. I asked several times (for all-white towels) but they told me, 'We don't have it.'"

I think he pulled out Murat.

Sensible thing to do but I have not heard or read anything official so far...He should rehab that back like crazy and ask the RG organizers to have him start on a tuesday or something (if such a thing can be asked).

It can be asked for but not always granted.

He will play Murray in R2.

Nishi was replaced in the draw by Falla.
