Rafa has improved but not enough, he needs to win but also to remove the ghosts of his head and not shaking in the crucial moments which never did before
Call me positive, optimist, desinusional, believer or whatever you want but he is going to do a good summer beginning in Miami where (it's not still summer but it's too hot already) I hope to see him biting that trophy for the first time

I still have nightmares about the 2014 Miami final , I sat in the front row of that stadium and felt like I witnessed a total annihilation of Rafa by Djoker.
If Roddick can win that tournament , Anyone has an opportunity. Carol has a point .. Rafa has put himself in postition to win that torunament numerous of times.. dont loose hope.herios said:Carol35 said:Ok, say whatever you want to say or however each one has seen the match but Rafa one more time in the second has given the match to Novak who has not played even so well but has been enough smart to take advantage of the situation, on that level any error by the opponent is gold

Front242 said:Roddick had a beast of a serve and a killer forehand in his prime. Don't think the guy gets enough credit around here 'cos people only remember his last years on tour getting destroyed. For example, he got destroyed by Novak towards the end of his career but he still ended his career with a winning h2h. That says a lot about how much of an impact differing primes, injuries etc have on things.
Front, other payers have taken Djokovic apart with ease back at that time. R.g. Safin beat the living daylights out of Djokovic at SW19. Roddick competitive fire was a lot higher than his skill setFront242 said:Not many people besides Roger Federer returned prime Roddick's serve well as it was beastly. If you think he was only slightly better than college tennis players I'd recommend reviewing the h2h of Roddick v Djokovic 'cos as I said it's all relative to one's prime ending and injuries hampering his whole game while the other was entering his. It's easy to see. He had Djokovic's number in his prime and vice versa when age and injuries set him back. That drubbing at the Olympics was just a few months before he retired so it's no surprise and he still ended with a winning h2h over Djokovic. Not bad for a guy barely better than college level. He's totally unappreciated and unfairly underrated by many here and if not for Roger Federer he'd have multiple slams. Again, not bad for a guy only slightly better than college level lol.
Bear in mind too that though Novak is in his prime now, he won his first slam in 2008 and was clearly already extremely good at that stage and yet college level Roddick beat him 4 straight times after that. I'd have to say that's grade A manure from those claiming he was only slightly better than college level and would like to see them go win a slam and beat Djokovic 4 straight times and countless other near misses to Federer.
