That was tougher than it looked I suspect. The conditions were difficult. I like the look of this kid Hurkacz. He reminds me of Murray, not too many weaknesses in his game. His only issue perhaps is his second serve. I'm a bit concerned about Roger though. Not sure he's been challenged enough. Have to see if he can raise his level to face Rafa

We are just one nadal win away from, rafa/fed 39th meeting with the winner most likely to win Indian wells, likeing nadal chances against this federer. Anyway its just a warm up to the clay court season like a bonus or something.

Roger just played enough to advance. The first serve has to drastically improve if he wants to give himself a chance against Rafa.
And his forehand was suspect too. This kind of performance may not cut it against Nadal, unless Nadal plays badly himself.

commentators speculating that Rafa is injured. Is this the Rafa narrative again? Or is it real?

On ESPN they are saying he is simply rattled. He started nervously.

It really does my head in. Why talk about a hitch in his knee? Can't he just be beaten by a player balling?

Nadal has 67 masters semi finals, but 65 is really close to nadal, so thats ok but wow roger federer numbers are awesome .

Roger's MS numbers suck, but it is majors that matter anyways. That said it'd be nice if Roger gets to 30 MS when all is said and done but seems unlikely.

The man named Karen is too inconsistent for Nads.

In spite of his inconsistency, Karen is a big man who moves like a Schwartzman. I have a feeling Rafa will break him again soon.

Nadal's defence and variety is bothering Karen now.

Karen can not beat Nadal if he plays a game of attrition. He has to hit winners.

That was an impressive hold. Makes me look at Karen in a whole new light. That was big man tennis

KK has a monster of a forehand. If his net game were a bit better Nadal would be in serious trouble.
