Yes, but 32 is the new 27...haven't you been keeping up? ;)

People in general are holding up better if they take care of themselves! I'm old, but no one picks my age leaving them quite shocked when I tell them! I barely did anything, but haven't changed my diet like some older people; making sure to get my veggies, protein, and cutting down on fat! I still eat too much, but overall not too unhappy with myself at 61 next month! I was thinking the next generation would take over for the seniors like Fedalovic, Berdych, Ferrer, & Cilic by now, but they're still there and proving they deserve to be on the tour!

Clearly, we're not talking about this Wimbledon, though, right? Murray will barely be back. But next year, Roger will be almost 39, so the dynamic could be completely different.

Almost 38 next year. And Murray figures to be back for this Wimbledon, we will see.

Cilic struggling against Kohlschreiber. If he goes out the draw will get even more bonkers

Kohl gets the break! It's less about Cilic struggling and more Kohly just balling. When he plays like this I wonder why he's never even made the top 10

Kohlschreiber closes it out. Cilic continues to struggle at IW, which is weird. It's starting to look such an empty draw that Roger will look stupid if he doesn't win the whole thing. Not saying he will, but how much more of a non-threatening draw does it have to be?

I think there is a combination of things Chris.

Firstly, yes I do think Federer is pretty exceptional in tennis terms. He's not superhuman, but extremely gifted, smart with scheduling and the way he looks after himself.

I didn't say Roger's success and longevity was so "individual" and not repeatable... somebody will break his records and others will play longer... Somebody might do both... it won't be Murray for sure... and I don't think Novak will either.

However, if we're talking about a return to the Top 10 in it's own right... I reckon both could do it comfortably. Would that in itself be deemed a success given the careers they have had? I think they need more than a Top 10 berth.

I guess we need to frame the discussion a little more specifically... are we expecting these guys to come back and win majors or just secure a Top 10 berth?

If we're talking the former, I don't think Murray wins another major. He's won 3 pre-30 years old and without a gammy hip. I don't expect him to win any with a gammy hip post-30.

Novak is the enigma here... if he's fit and rediscovers his fire, he could go on a tear... but the longer this stop/start thing goes on.... the less likely that seems to be, to me. We will see!
Thanks BritBox for your elaboration. All your points are thoughtful and predictions possible to happen. Maybe I would not be so certain about Murray's carrier on top to be over, we must wait and see.

I said "barely back." He's looking to comeback for Queens, so I certainly don't expect him to contend for Wimbledon this year, but maybe next year. And Roger will be, ok...almost 38. :D

Kohl did it! So Delpo is the last strong man standing in a way of 98th title in Maestro's glorious resume.
However, I'd not crown Fed yet. Montreal last year also had a very weak draw, as I commented elsewhere. Fed got to the final easily but not only lost there: he also "tweaked his back" in the process, ruining his Cincinnati campaign and contributing to his poor USO performance. You never know what may happen...

I never count my chickens mate. But to be honest, he seems to have good mojo at IW, versus Montreal where he's never been able to get over the hump.

Surely he's won in Canada. Are you saying that he hasn't done in Montreal, though?

I have del Po in my draw to win the tournament. (And, btw, since you wondered earlier, I picked Chung to beat Berdych, too. So at least one person anticipated it. Don't think that Chung is a walkover.)

Correct. He's never won in Montreal. It's always been in Toronto. Just one of those weird things. That's one of the reasons I was vehemently opposed to his going there. Some places just have bad juju. It's like Rafa in Miami. You just know something bad would happen. He could be serving for the match and a bird would poop in his eye. Trust me, this shit is real!
