This is just vintage Vika, she is one of the best returners in the womens game,Pliskova should have won in straight sets,Vika has worked out the serve of Pliskova,Pliskova has one of the best serves in womens tennis,it is so fluid and effortless, just like her ground shots,it is the 'mental side of her game she needs to work on'.I am really enjoying this match up.

That was an enjoyable match. Good show, Vika, and, while I hadn't really take Pliskova on board before, I am now a fan.

Vika deserved her win, attacked Serena's fhand wing, she did get broken while serving for the match,a couple of DF did not help her cause, anyway she steadied and served out the match. This is her 2nd IW title, with this win she will return to the Top Ten when the rankings come out on Monday, she will be ranked No 8....after the last couple of years, battling injuries, good to see Vika back in the Top 10.

I was happy for Vika, too, since she's coming back from injury. I was hoping for Serena, given the venue, and I'm sorry that nerves, or a bad day got to her, but not to take away from Azarenka, who was bold and served well today. It bodes well for their matches going forward. The speeches were really heartfelt and gorgeous at the presentation. It deserves its own thread, but the tournament director, I believe it was, made some horribly sexist remarks earlier in the day. He's going to pay for that, I believe. Patrick McEnroe has already said he should resign.
