About Indian Wells:

Indian Wells is the 5th largest tennis tournament in the world. It is a co-ed event. Since Larry Ellison purchased both the tournament and the IW Tennis Garden in 2009, his vision has been to make it one of the biggest and best tournaments in tennis. Located in the Coacochela Valley in California, and on the edge of Joshua Tree National Park, the venue is spectacularly situated, but is subject to the complications of desert weather.

Incorporated in 1967, it lies in between Palm Desert and the resort town of La Quinta. As of the 2013 census, the city population was 5,165.

As mentioned in the tipster thread, Aga Radwanska v Dominika Cibulkova could be a mouth watering clash. The Pocket Rocket (Dominika) is in-form, and probably ranked somewhere below where she belongs, with Aga not having the greatest start to the season, it might be ripe for an upset. Bouchard v Sloane Stephens will be another interesting clash... but I expect Sloane to prevail. Zhang could also trouble Caroline Wozniacki.

She had break points for 5-1, blew it, Aga held and then turned it round to win 7-5. This is one that Dominika really should have closed out.

Ouch...I stopped watching, thinking that one was over. Cibulkova will not be sleeping well tonight.

Christina Mchale (USA) d [4] Garbiñe Muguruza (ESP) | 7 - 5 | 6 - 1

Slight surprise although McHale has had a good start to the year. Garbiñe blowing hot and cold for the last few months.

Eugenie Bouchard (CAN) d [21] Sloane Stephens (USA) | 7 - 5 | 7 - 5

Saw part of this match and it was very entertaining, both players going after their shots. Good win for Genie as Sloane came into the tournament in good form.
