I didn't watch, but, like you, I saw the scores and thought he was cruising. Not to take anything away from Sock, but back to square one and Chapter 100 on the surge of Dimitrov and his quest to fulfill potential. :p

In fairness, Sock is no pushover - it's not a devastating loss... he's rolled over more easily for lesser players. He was playing pretty well when I was watching, so not sure of the nature of the turnaround will have to watch the highlights later to catch the ending.

JMDP should have stayed away from the Djoker's backhand..I think he made a huge mistake when he had Novak at the net, Delpo should have went for his body instead of trying to attempt a passing shot. Good win for Novak

He needs to develop his lob. When Novak comes to net he needs to sends one over his head that hits the baseline.

Yeah he needs a Andy Murray or Bjorn Borg topspin lob..it's not a hard shot..I could teach it to him with a two hour lesson but it will costs the South American giant some $:snicker

No, Sock is good, and is playing well. But I'm pretty sure that Dimitrov's level is somewhere between a Gasquet and early Berdych. But not elite.

That is it. Novak wins the third set 6-1. It is tough to play against top players with a known weakness. Unless JMDP can hit non-slice backhand shots at his will, it will be impossible for him to win another slam.

JMDP needs to get fitter ..however it's good to have him back.

yes he has to improve his stamina and fitness, he was tired in 3rd set, he would not be able to win a 5 setters

Woah! After the blockbuster AO final going Roger's way we have another Fedal match here. The second Fedal of 2017 already. The court will certainly favour Rafa but I hope Roger steps it up for this. He needs to moving well to his forehand side and he needs to serve well. Any takes guys?
