Something isnt right in Serena's life..its been that way since I saw her in Cincy..This was the absolute WORST match I ever seen her play.. Its not panic from me but this isnt the same Serena from the past 3 years
who knows whats happening behind closed doors, she looks sad...no fire in her eyes...maybe that media circus from last year depleted her..she seems to be losing in finals like its a mental block..
maybe Miami will light up a fire in her belly..

She began her presser by wanted to say how proud she was of Serena for coming back to IW.. She said Serena was her inspiration and motivation to work on her game, trying to over coming her setbacks and that Venus showing up at IW shows that they werre the two greatest ambassors of the tennis. She said that she very emotional because she knows that it was so tough and emotional for both Serena and Venus to come back to play at IW. She siad it was very hard for her to control her emotions and she didnt blame the crowd for rooting and supporting Serena because she was too.

well this year Serena is struggling and should think of firing Patrick because he is failing to motivate her....plus he talks too much and he disclosed Serena s struggle with her knees ..he is a disrespectful coach..
dont care about her pc speech...she will never be a favorite of mine no matter what...:snicker

well, its the last thing I am gonna say about it but Patrick is not the problem.. He has been a pure rock in her corner.. I would advise you to attend some of their practice hitting sessions.Serena is relaxed, having fun and putting in WORK. Serena problem is between her ears, She plays and competes when she feels like it, today was one of those days when she wasnt mentally there .. give Vika credit, she did what she had to do because even when Serena plays like this she is still incredible deadly foe to overcome.. Again, Patrick is good for her but I will let calvy, kskate and some of the other posters who watch the WTA more than I comment on that.

Agreed. Patrick is not a problem. He's a very good coach and the coach isn't the one out there playing so the problem is Serena's and not his. Same issue with Federer these days. He plays well up to the final and knows his time is running out and he dwells on it over and over and it affects his game. That's my guess anyway and can't think of any other reason it could be to play very well up to the most important part of the tournament and then for everything to go pear shaped.

Besides, even when Serena has beaten Azarenka it's often been a come from behind win. She's a tough opponent. That said, way too many errors from Serena.

Thanks for reporting this, AP! Azarenka did well with the press, especially considering the various factors in play. I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised.

I think Serena is going through a bad case of finalitis, ever since the USO SF loss, which has contributed to her losses in Melbourne and now Indian Wells.

She needs to get her championship confidence back, and I know she will. It will just take a little more time. Perhaps a change of location and surface will help, when she gets on the European red clay.

She changed her hair style too, should she revert back? Look Serena is there it isn't like she isn't making finals. She just needs to calm down and play like she means it when she says everything she does from this point on is gravy. She has fixed her issue of losing her composure in the early rounds. I trust she will fix this matter she is encountering in the later rounds now too. I am hoping we see a big turnaround on clay. She also has Miami coming up a tournament she loves. She just has to get on the scoreboard with a tournament win, and I think all will be right. She and Sharapova have split the last 4 French Opens, so with Maria out, you have to favor Serena there.

She has cut it short. I don't think this suits her well.

She will win Miami which is like her home court and that will help her to gain confidence.
