Well it's really close but I have to gave it to djokovic yes I know Federer has more USO titles but I think Djokovic can get to Federer by the end of his career. djokovic best years on hard courts 2011,2015 was a little better than Federer plus Djokovic players that he beat to win titles was better than Federer players that he beat. Also Djokovic had a better h2h vs Federer

It isn't close at all. You really have trouble with math. It was close before 2017 when it was just one major. 3 majors is huge especially with Djokovic playing terribly the last couple years.

Roger's 2006 was the best hard court year of all time, just two losses all year. 2011 Djokovic didn't even win YEC, you know, that tourney that your fake goat is garbage at? 2015 Djoker lost 3 times on hard to your weak #4 of all time who was already an ancient 34 years old at the time. And also the H2H is even on hard courts and that's with way more matches being played during Nole's prime.

OK if you go by the stats than yea you are right but tennis is not all about stats, yes I know Federer won more majors on hard courts than Djokovic. 2 USO titles Federer 5 USO titles thats 3 more I said that Above I I'm not a Djokovic fan this is just my opinion. Everything else is really close but yes Federer a better player djokovic but on hard courts I say djokovic

Greatness is mostly about accomplishments especially when comparing guys from the same era. It's true we shouldn't only use stats but in this case it's the main factor. Roger has won 3 more majors and an extra YEC on hard courts, Nole has 2 more MS wins on HC I believe or maybe just one more and the H2H is even. There really is no justification for saying Djoker is greater on hardcourts. Before 2017 it was fairly neck and neck but not now.

Their H2H is 17-17 on HCs.
Also about the Masters which Djokovic leads 22-21,Federer in his dominant period had to play best of 5 finals with no first round byes.

They are both at the top of the category with Roger having a slightly better resume.

While Djokovic is a great hard court player, Federer is still the better hard court player, as Darth said. Federer has the same AO titles as Djokovic with a final loss, and 3 more US titles. If I am not mistaken, Roger has the longest winning streak on hard courts.

Some of the stats are warped a bit bc of changing surface conditions. The Ao going from rebound ace to medium speed, to slow speed back to quick conditions. The USO going from fast to medium/slow... etc

As far as resume. I think Djokovic is the greatest slow court hard player of all time and it isn’t close. In terms of fast court yards, Roger is way up there but he does have some competition from Sampras and a few others, especially if we include indoors.

Overall, yea Roger still has the distinction of being the best all around hardcourter.

@Haelfix nailed it (as usual - wish you'd post more, as you always can be trusted to bring a non-vitriolic, nuanced, and balanced perspective...and yeah, I am trying to butter you up ;-).

I posted this elsewhere at some point, but I think in terms of all-time order, for top three you have:

FAST HARDS: Federer, Sampras, Djokovic
SLOW HARDS: Djokovic, Federer, Nadal/Agassi/Lendl
CLAY: Nadal, Borg, Vilas/Lendl/Djokovic (Roger might be next)
GRASS: Federer, Sampras, Connors/Borg/McEnroe/Becker

(Waiting for someone to tell me I'm an idiot...3....2....1.....)

Hmm...not so sure about that.

Novak: 1 Slam, 3 runner's up, 4 SF, 3 QF; 8 clay Masters, 13 titles overall; 188-47 (80%) clay record overall
Guga: 3 Slams, 2 QF; 4 clay Masters, 14 titles overall; 189-80 (70%) clay record overall

They played a similar numbers of clay matches, but Novak won 10% more of them despite playing alongside the King of Clay. Guga has 3 French Opens to Novak's 1, but I think we know the reason why.

Now maybe Guga has the edge on record overall, but I think Novak was the better clay player.

I agree with a lot of this, but would put Federer ahead of Novak on clay. His record over time has been better.

Fair Enough.I don't think masters from before can be compared to the masters now because of the rule changes(1R byes,Best of 5 finals) but the rest are good arguments.I just think 3 French Open against 1 is just too big a gap but I get the tougher final part

Vilas above Roger? Equals Lendl? Stop wasting time, you need to work a lot harder to avoid nonsense.
