My days of being involved in threads like this are essentially over, but I'll interject here.

I can accept that Zverev didn't bring out his best yesterday, but that was largely due to Roger's play. He didn't allow Zverev to get into any rhythm, moving him around all over the place. One sign that this was the case, is the fact that throughout Zverev's first serve percentage was more than solid, but he was simply helpless.

Where I thought I had to get involved was... Feliciano Lopez beating Roger yesterday?? Can I ask the Rafa fans involved in this thread... well... apart from you know who... Does anyone else really believe that? I mean... seriously?
We miss you here Federbeg. Why did you leave this forum?

If Feli wouldn't have won at least the match would have been more tied. And I don't spout garbage like you usually do, I've just watched how each one has played I wouldn't have been surprised if Feli would have won.
If Feli would have won

It's her opinion based on the level and caliber of players that Feli faced ...what's so ludicrous about saying she wouldn't be surprised..

If she said this prior to the Stuggart match in regards to Tommy chances to defeat Roger, would it be so far fetched..

I think yesterday you said that you didn't see the Fed-Zverev match. If you did see it you'd agree that Lopez would've had no prayer. Lopez on his best day would've been lucky to get to a TB in one set yesterday.

Obviously the Roger that played Haas was different than the one yesterday. Same as the one that played the semi vs Khachanov. If the rest of the field can take some solace after yesterday it's the fact that Fed wasn't consistently great the past 2 weeks. But they better hope yesterday wasn't a sign of things to come otherwise the question is whether he drops a set at Wimbledon.

I don't understand why you Roger's fans are you offended because I said that Feli would have beaten Roger or at least the match would have been more interesting when you love to say in every single tournament that Rafa is playing that x and x and x and x can beat him. You should first to learn to make comments with more sense before to been so ridiculously offended

Yep or acting like some of his fervients fans every time that Rafa loses doing this :clap::clap:
You can tell they are most of the posters around so they think he can say what ever want but come on, how I dare to act like them? :cuckoo::facepalm::finger:
If they have the guts to be an offenders they should have the guts to take the offenses back

Darth..i wrote somewhere I don't recall exactly cause I got distracted by that troll Eduardo or whatever that Lopez has severe matchup issues vs Roger. The biggest is Roger would just exploit Lopez slice bh. Roger just does everything that Lopez wish he could do better.

And? what you try to tell me, that Roger is better than Feli? of course, no doubts about it but maybe you never have seen a low ranking player without titles to beat to one of the top 4? I've seen before and that happens in all the sports.

Not when the better player is playing well...

Feliciano beating Federer at Wimbledon would be like, I don't know, Pablo Cuevas beating Rafa at Roland Garros. It could happen, but is so very unlikely.

Maybe that's not right, as at least Cuevas has beaten Rafa before. How about Richard Gasquet? 0-14 against Rafa. Gasquet could beat Rafa at RG if A) Rafa was limping (more than usual, lol), and B) Gasquet was playing the match of his life. But like Feli-Roger, both would have to happen. A healthy Rafa in whatever form beats Gasquet at RG, no matter what. A healthy Roger beats Feli at Wimbledon, no matter what.

I think what is going on - and what I mentioned earlier, that AP pretty much ignored - is the common assumption by Rafa diehards that every match he plays is on his racket, whereas the same is not true of Roger. In this "Fedhater" mentality, Roger can be beaten by a good player playing great, even if Roger is playing well. This view is important because it (not so) subtly props up Rafa as superior.

Notice how only really biased, diehard Rafa fans do this; you don't have the more rational Rafa fans like Moxie doing it, or Novak fans, etc.

(And just to be honest, some of our more "passionate" fellow Fedfans have the same problem)

You don't know what you are talking about with your bias comparison of Rafa fans to Fed fans or Djoker fans. Have you seen me say Rafa had no business loosing IW or Miami to Roger

The big difference between us is that we don't put so much attention to Roger like his fans are doing to Rafa since 12 years ego but the way they act are making that we have to put more attention to him. The big difference is that when Roger loses vs anyone we don't applaud. The big difference is that even his fans talk like if both players are the same age, nope! Rafa is 5 years younger and even I don't see him playing at 36 years old he will play longer than Roger who will retire soon. The big difference is that many (not everyone) Roger fans hate Nadal and for 12 years they like cowardly to critic and insult him hidden behind the computer like bad losers and not just to him but also the ones which respond and defend to him. Hey, Roger Federer is a great player, 18 GS, 36 years old and still very dedicated because he loves this sport. We Rafa's fans have not any reason to hate him but if his fans keep talking so much s^*t they can't expect to get back something better, got it?

AP, did you actually read what I wrote? I clearly said that some Fedfans are just as bad. But some of us don't constantly go after Rafa, don't try to undermine him or constantly give silly reasons for why Roger lost. Some of us admit when Roger is simply out-played, Rafa was at the AO.

Poor @Carol, such a victim of Big Mean Federer Fans. She never maligns Roger. At all. And no Rafa fans ever bag on Roger, ever ever.

Nope I'm not a victim, I just see how much Roger's fans hate Nadal and I think it's very unfair. You should enjoy more that rivarility because won't last for ever

You are right, Rafa was out-played in the 5 set at AO by Roger, nobody has said the opposite, same like Roger was out-played in Wimbledon 2008 by Rafa

The only one that doesn't go after Rafa consistently is Keli..you and GSM bait the rabid Fed Fan trolls..

E.g. How ridiculous did Front carry on about secs not mins but seconds just afterwards won RG..then he ranted about finding a better opponent to give Rafa more competitive games than Stan.,you guys crucified Carol if she suggested Feli instead of young Sasha.. however you didn't check Front., so when Moxie jumps in she is rational but when some else says something, you come up with Well you are part of the Rafa fandom that thinks Rafa should win every match. I was the one who went to Miami , purchased those expensive front row seats and watch Novak annihilate Rafa only a feet away. I came back and said Rafa needs to add a new voice to assist Toni. Kieran threatened to have me expelled from Rafa fandom(not really) but we battled for years over that topic. I said I didn't expect Rafa wouldn't be able to defeat Novak unless he made numerous counters ..it turns out I was correct.,so I do read what you post but your analysis of some of the other Rafa fans is very inaccurate.

Again, I don't "go after" Rafa. This is you just circling the wagons with Carol, like you often do. I don't "bait" certain posters, although I will sometimes agree with certain Fedfans, and I will occasionally troll Carol because she brings tennis fangirlism to new levels.

But yeah, I don't always agree with Front's crusade against Rafa. You and I can agree on that. I sometimes disagree with him - I'm sure he can corroborate that. But I don't see it as my job to check him, because I don't buy into the notion that we're two teams fighting each other. I tend to like to relate to everyone as individuals.

Speaking of Kieran, I wish he'd join us here. He's a sneaky sucker, because on the surface he plays it cool and tries to act like he's above Fedal Wars, but he might dig at Roger more than anyone else.

Anyhow, I apologize if I was painting with a broad-brush, like I was saying Carol was. I know Rafa fans are just as diverse as Fedfans, just as Fedfans can be just as biased as Rafa fans. It really depends upon the individual and context.
