It was Mauresmo talking, not "people".

She was obviously asked about the match. You've posted a link and now "people" are discussing it again.

Andy lost the match and we can surely move on. He is not the first player in the world to
lose a match. If he loses the match and they keep claiming that it is due to other reasons,
but they won't tell us what the other reasons are reason, surely the world will keep talking
about it.

Also, this is coming from Amelie Mauresmo, his coach. This is not a hearsay or some
detractors trying to bring it up again or some tabloids doing their business.

You say she was asked about it. Come on, she is his coach and that was the last
match he played. If she gives an interview, would not people ask about that. If she does
not want to talk about that, she should not even agree for the interview in the first place.

Actually, she did answer the question about the match fine. See below.

(His QF against Dimitrov at Wimbledon wasn't successful)
Yeah, we got together right away the next day to analyse it. I needed him to explain a lot of things. The dialogue went well.

The phrase "other reasons" was mentioned in an answer to a diffierent question.

(Afraid of arriving at the worst moment at Wimbledon, with the defending British champ as a woman coach?)
It was all there! Pffft, he dealt with it well. Even if he lost in the quarters. for other reasons. He has a lot of perspective about things.

Finally, I should mention that the second question above was asked in the interview before
the first question. So, the "other reasons" was spoken even before there was a question about
the actual match by the interviewer.

I don't have a problem with Andy losing a match due to bad play. As I said before, he is not he first person to lose a match playing badly. I also don't have a problem with players losing a match
due to some other reasons.

Do I think Andy should tell us every thing that goes on in his life, just because he is a tennis
player? Certainly not. But, your own camp should not be talking about "other reasons", if you
are not willing to divulge what they are.

Even if Andy really lost the match due to other reasons (which is quite conceivable),
his camp should not say he lost due to other reasons, if they are not willing to disclose
what they are.

It is not "my dog ate homework". It is, "I can't submit the homework, because I have
an excuse that I won't tell you". You cannot have it both ways.

Andy hasn't made any claims. He didn't make any excuses. He gave full credit to Dimitrov.

I've now read the interview. I'm not sure the part you quoted has been translated as well as it could have been. I don't know perhaps it has. To be honest it seems to me that she's making the point that Andy didn't lose because he had a female coach. He lost for "other reasons". That is all I'm seeing.

There is no agreement with Andy and Amelie as yet. Nothing is signed. He can't dictate what she says and to my mind she has not spoken out of turn. You talk about "they" but who are "they"? You seem to be making a big a deal about this and I'm not really sure why. I'm pretty sure the Brit journalists have seen this interview and if they thought there was something in it they would be asking Andy. There clearly isn't.

Andy lost a match. That's it. Even if there was "other reasons" what does it matter?

I think they're entitled to say "other reasons" and not give those reasons. It's not - as the comedian told the chef - rocket salad...

yes they are, as a fan of both players dimitrov deserved to win.

just to witter on about the "5/45 freaking minutes" episode..that day the bbc showed prince William and katy being welcomed by Wimbledon chairman/big cheese, so if there is any "other reasons" I think royal couple with wimby chairman wafted through to the dressing rooms and more or less forced murray to meet them..thus messing his head up just before going oncourt.

They can do whatever they want; they are entitled to look ridiculous.
However, IMO, they would have been much better off if they had either come
up with the reason in public (not in the post match presser though) or if they
never talked anything about other reasons even if they existed, in case they
are not planning to disclose it.

If that was the issue, surely Andy could not say it aloud for fear that his head may be
cut off in public by the Royals (or for the fear that he may not get Knighted). However,
this did not even make it into the list of plausible explanations of the tabloids.

On the contrary, they don't look ridiculous at all. The only ones who look ridiculous are the ones who have a need for this. She answered the question as much as she wanted to. What anybody else wants is up to them...
