I really like seeing all of the Caravaggio, tented. Such crispness in his colors and images. Love it.

I agree, Shawn. He was a genius. His use of color was incredible. And no one has captured black like Caravaggio.

I really like abstract paintings the most. I also like Salvador Dali's art work. Here's a very famous one:

The Persistence of Memory.

Here's another one I like.

Have you ever seen it in person? It's surprisingly small: 9.5" x 13" / 24 cm × 33 cm

Meanwhile, Picasso's Guernica is huge, taking up an entire wall.

No, I haven't but I know it's quite small. I don't know what really comes into place as far as the size is concerned, given that some are quite huge while others are pretty small.

It's such a famous work, with so many reproductions/posters/etc., which are far larger than it really is. In my imagination, it had taken on a larger-than-life quality, yet since I didn't know its actual size before I first saw it in person, I was struck by how small it is.

Standing in front of it, you get a feel for what Dali was really doing, what effect he was going for, which can't be appreciated when looking at a poster. To me, that's how size comes into play.

Oh, I absolutely LOVE Matisse, and it took me a long time to 'get' him.

Isn't it odd how that happens? With me, it was Rothko. For decades I couldn't figure out why people would take him seriously, then one day it all clicked.
