According to Roger's agent Tony Godsick (what a ugly last name) Roger is fully recovered of his back discomfort and he is ready to play in the USO

OOH! sleeveless T, wet tight shorts hiked up high, ooh!
Who's that other guy whose hand he's shaking? Some qualifier?
It looks like Rafa, Moya and Rog who all appear to be looking at something in Carlos' and Rog's hand...making a toast with a can of soda?

I know-- I am getting old and forgetful. LOL

LOL We all are marching on that road, sadly.
Anyway, I get the hope to see a Fedal final by the fans, but even if it will be only a SF, that would be a first time meeting at the USO for them.
My feeling is they will not meet.

Rafa will be a force to reckon with in the hard court part of the season, even if not in the indoor portion of it. After all Rafa reached three finals on hard courts at the beginning of the season (including AO), when the competition was tougher. With players falling out like flies, can't see much reason why he cannot do well. Hope Rog stops him though (multiple times, will do good for H2H).
Still believing in Rata after the two masters? Or you just wanted to jinx him as usual? :lol3:

Everyone is hoping that they finally will. There is a good chance, given the absence of elite competition. I'm hoping they're on opposite sides of the draw and it could be the final. It would seem even just by odds, and their relative rankings that they would collide.

Rafa has won the USO w/o winning either of the tune-ups, and also by winning both. I would be feeling better right now if he'd won one, but it's not specifically an indicator.

No, I was not jinxing him. I really thought he would do better than what he did. Now for the USO, I would wait to see the draw.
We know the type of players who could harm him. If his path avoids them, he may still go deep (but he is not winning USO though).

He's not winning the USO? This is more hopeful than based on reasonable theory. The only players who have won this tournament who are playing are Roger and Rafa. Oh, wait...Cilic still in and Delpo? Whatever. There is opportunity for more than a few players, but none so much as Fedal. It seems dismissive and prejudiced to say, out of hand, that Nadal isn't winning this one. You like to game what you wish, we all do.

You're both gals right?

I'm a girl...who's NOT a lesbian...and I still gagged reading that crap. Bleh. No guy who picks his undperpants out of his butt as much as Nadal does could ever be sexy. No way, no how. "Childhood habit" or "nervous tick"...it gross and he should have fixed that habit the same way Nole fixed his habit of bouncing the ball 20-40 times before each serve...

And Zverev and the famous Kyrgios and who knows who else will play the best, I doubt Roger could win after his back discomfort, would he had enough time to practice? oh, I forgot he doesn't need it

Even if he wasn't - he'd be stupid to admit it before the tournament started unless it was to withdraw.

Hey, at least Roger made the final in Montreal with barely any practice after a 10 day layoff. Nadal practiced for weeks and still lost early in Montreal and Cincy and has always been vulnerable on hard courts. He's only #1 because Roger gave him a mulligan and pulled out of Cincy.

Also, you can't count on Kyrgios to play well unless he's playing Roger or Nadal. Otherwise he may decided he's disinterested and "tank" again. Zverev you can count on for at least the quarters. Can't speculate about the semis final yet. Depends his draw.

Not that it would matter if they weren't, right? :D Looks like we've got some posters willing to objectify the guys again. :cheerleader:

I'm perfectly willing to objectify some Spanish guys...just not Nadal. Moya...yes...Nadal...no. Feli Lopez...yes...David Ferrer...yes...Nadal...no, no, no....

Yes, when he only wants to reach the final he really does not need to practice. The relation practice/results now is roughly like that:

a) Injured, no practice: reach the semis
b) No practice: runner up
c) Light one day practice before the tournament: most likely wins the tournament
d) Serious practice one day before the tournament: surely wins the tournament
e) Serious practice three days before the tournament: wins without dropping a set
f) One week of full practice -- physical, basic shot drills and tactical planning: wins without dropping a game
g) Two weeks of practice: same as above and walks on water after trophy ceremony.
