Murray played cracking tennis today. Best match of his so far this year. Murray vs Federer should be awesome.

Berdych lost. Usually, he has an automatic entry into QF. He usually wins matches against people whom he is supposed to win and then loses, that too big time, against top players.

This means, this may be the end of Berdych (just like Ferrer).

Donskoy is playing very well since going down 5-1 in the first set. I've seen him play once or twice and remembered him having a big game (big serve and huge forehand in particular) but is pretty erratic yet he's been pretty consistent after a rough start. Roger is playing well too. Donskoy hits big despite a smaller frame but he moves pretty poorly for his size.

It was bad that he got so negative. This is why he's erratic and turns people off. Not to take away from Dhumzur, who had a rather miraculous first serve pct., after the first 3 games. But Stan has 3 Majors, and he was defending this title.

There's Stan at majors and then there is Stan outside of them. At majors he is a top 3 player or at worst top 5 player over the past 4+ years and outside of them he usually looks like an "average" top 10-15 player. I actually find it admirable, he really morphs into a different beast at slams.

Meanwhile some of the lights have gone out at Dubai yet they're playing on which I think is nuts. One of the ad courts looks very dark on TV

Bad tiebreak from Roger as he blew 3 match points and we are onto the decider. Donskoy has serious momentum as he has been the better player since 5-1 down

By his part Federer lacking interest goes to three... but Donskoy is a fine player and deserves credit. His return facing match point on tie-break was insane.

Half hour later and the kid's serving for it after breaking Roger 2 straight times; or he broke himself! :clap :nono :cover

And Roger blew it from 5-2 up...well I'm glad this is only Dubai. Definitely one of the most improbable losses he's ever had, Donskoy deserves a lot of credit though. He has taken it to Roger for most of this match.

Nothing else you can call it losing serve at love like that; colossal choke job! Nadal and Fed depend on it at this point in their careers! Happens enough times with these kids! :puzzled :nono :cover

5-1 Roger in the TB. Donskoy has become unraveled from 0-30 down in his last service game, Roger played two great points to start and he finally cracked a bit
