He said he's only been back to practicing after the groin injury for 3 days, so some rust is to be expected.

Meanwhile...Stan's being a head case again and lost to a guy he should beat in his sleep. Maybe he just didn't want to risk another possible loss to Roger in the final...assuming Murray still can't figure out how to break Roger's serve if they play in the semis...:snicker

Stan's a head case. I shrug when people say he's a "hall of famer" because of his 3 Slams. Yet he can't ever play consistently enough to regularly win 250, 500 or 1000 events. He's only won 15 titles - 3 of them just happen to be Slams.

Murray was "a bit sick" at the AO? That's his excuse? Roger said he had a cold he'd been struggling with for 2 weeks...and went on to play 3 5 setters and win his 18th Slam. Didn't Roger play the first 6 months of 2008 with mono? Remember when Pete Sampras barfed at the US Open in the middle of his match against Corretja? Steffi Graff once got her period (and severe cramps) in the middle of a 3-set French Open final slugfest against Seles - and didn't tell anyone about it until years later. But...Andy was "a bit sick" and some of his fans think that's an excuse for losing? :lolz: Alrighty then. Moving on...

I saw some of the replay. Stan was up 3-0 in the first but Dzumhur really elevated his game and took the TB. He continued to play well in the 2nd, and then Bad Stan showed up. This is why people dislike Stan...he can get negative and check out.

It was bad that he got so negative. This is why he's erratic and turns people off. Not to take away from Dhumzur, who had a rather miraculous first serve pct., after the first 3 games. But Stan has 3 Majors, and he was defending this title.
