As if solving the problems of the Middle East were simple, and I don't buy that Obama is "fully culpable." He didn't get us into Afghanistan, and he did get us out of Iraq. And he's negotiated a deal with Iran to keep them from getting a nuke.
I said that Obama is fully culpable for the situations in Libya and Syria, and I stand by that. His administration has actively worked for regime change in both countries. There is no need to antagonize Assad, which is something that Obama agrees with the Republicans on doing. Jeb Bush/Fiorina/Kasich/Rubio and Obama each want Assad to go. American NGOs and special forces have been working tirelessly in recent years to undermine Assad at Obama's behest. This silliness has a great deal to do with ISIS's advance as well as the refugee crisis engulfing Europe.
Obama has done more, in the long run, to aid and abet the international jihadist movement than any president to date. That problem is here to stay and get worse thanks to many of his miscalculations.
The jury is still out on the Iranian nuclear deal.....Obama avoided war but I am hardly convinced that Iran won't get a bomb. The way they see it is that the Sunnis have a bomb in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, their ultimate enemy, is the major bankroller of Pakistan. There is no question Iran wants a nuke and that they have little respect for Western diplomats. Come back in 10 years and see if everything looks so peachy.
