Even with a bad hand and Rafa playing decent tennis... Nole's outclassing him.

I see Nole served up a nice breadstick. Is Novak just crushing him? Is it closer than the score would lead you to believe?

Ralf is hitting well. Check his winner/ufe in the first set. Nole is simply beating him to a pulp.

Two break points for Novak in the first game of the second.

Nole breaks him on the opening game of the 2nd set. Rafa is playing his heart out.

Yeah, missed till the first game of set 2 there but they said Rafa had 7 winners and only 5 ufes in set 1 so he's playing well but just getting destroyed by Novak. It's like Williams v Sharapova out there.

Rafa has been reduced to cheering Novak's errors now.

It will be interesting to see how Rafa responds to this potential loss...

It always looks a bit closer, as Nadal is a fighter. But this is a slaughter.

Gotta love it. Last 2 points were a total massacre.

What a match from Djokovic! 4-1

The rest of the tour should be grateful he saves his best tennis for the big matches.

Frew McMillan just said he "felt sorry for Nadal in those last 2 points of the previous game being pounded like a butcher tenderizes meat."

6-2 6-2 last year at Beijing was the worst beating Nadal has had by Djokovic but the scoreline looks likely to be nastier today.

Have been enjoying his commentary thus far.

Nice to start off the season with a Spanish-style barbecue

Amazing performance by Novak and officially the hardest beatdown he's handed Nadal both to watch and in terms of the scoreline.

Novak was toying with Nadal out there toward the end. Unbelievable play from him today.

And Nadal actually played well today! Just utterly outclassed.
