So in the end, Kamke couldn't hit enough winners to offset the errors. Nadal will face a similar opponent in Ernie for the next match. Should be entertaining as well.

Great match but a real shame that service break came at the expense of a DF. Another potential rollercoaster against Gulbis tomorrow. 3 matches against super aggressive players. I like! Kamke put in a mighty showing for his first match against Nadal.

Is it me, or does that place look a little empty for the world #1?

A little maybe. Guess they didn't expect such a decent match but that was very entertaining. Hopefully Brands v Ferrer will be good next.

I'm taking a break for a bite. Be back in 30.

Mayer's post match interview..he said "maybe in the third set set he (Murray) was a little injured, I dunno?".

Good workout for Rafa, and a good showing for Kamke too. Just like everyone else, he has figured out how to beat Nadal: Hit winners every time, and just like everyone else, he found out that the strategy is not sustainable and only works once or twice a year against Nadal. If you are lucky, you are the one.

You also have to make sure you get your racquet on every ball and allow no lucky aces. All jokes aside though he did return very well.

Brands has monstrous FH and a great backhand and a huge serve. Like so many players out there if you took all their skills and added a large dose of consistency they'd be absolute beasts.

Yes, great showing by Kamke, though, once he settled in. He has a lovely game. Commentators said he's better than his ranking. Wonder why he hasn't had better results, then.

Consistency like Mr. Brands here unfortunately. Hard to believe Brands hasn't made it past the 2nd round of the AO or USO with that power. Best slam showing was 4th round of Wimbledon in 2010. Shocking really.

Qatar is kinda like that. It's not the same attraction as Dubai. The whole country is a bit hollow.

Lovely DTL BH from Brands there. He's very dangerous off both wings.

I am predicting Gulbis gets his first W against Rafa tomorrow :wow:

Quite a good chance of that I reckon. Whatever happens should be a decent match.
