I walked up the side of a mountain in 41 degrees once, skipped the cold shower and went straight for lunch.

If I can do it, why can't Nishikori!

Nishikori needs to reevaluate his schedule and training. His body is just not built for sustained top tier tennis. This now a running theme..the injuries. He is clearly a middleweight trying to compete with heavy weights.

True. He was completely drained out in his match against Hewitt at Brisbane, which is a part embarrassing considering Hewitt is 5+ years older and has every excuse in the book to fold.

Hewitt's an Aussie and used to the heat in Australia in summer and the heat was the main issue there. Hewitt handled it better. Nishikori lives in Florida but even their humidity and heat is rarely 45C (113F) and seems Kei just couldn't take the heat, literally.

It was 40c that day, off memory. Nonetheless, it was only a best of three set match.

Nope. Courtside they said it was 44.5C, which I rounded up. That's brutal heat to be playing tennis in.

Holy shit.

More respect to Rusty.

Anyone care to make finals predictions?

Cilic over Isner

Anderson over Johnson....

Those would be my picks, though I could hope for Johnson to keep up his run.

Johnson impressed me when I saw him in person. Wicked action on the serve and forehand.

There is a report that says Kei is doubtful for IW and M.
Damn, that sucks.

Hopefully this won't set him back too much.

That's what you get for overplaying. It's his own fault. Sad, but avoidable and he chose not to avoid it by playing way too much.

I think you are putting too much stock in the fat he "plays too much". He is just built for any sustained
high level play. He is one among many. He has come into virtually every slam with a "problem". Back, knee, shoulder, etc.

He has to work twice as hard, or bag it.

Cilic in straights...a tie breaker in one most likely.

You're right there, if Cilic closes it out here. (NB: That Ivanisevic is a handsome fella.)

Cilic serves for it, but Anderson breaks. The plot thickens, a little bit.

Glad for Cilic, but Anderson made it dramatic.

Man, Cilic is only 25... This guy still has a long way to go, providing he stays injury-free and all.
