Londero. You can't stop thinking about players with name ending with "derer", can you?:)
Sorry, I thought I might have been getting it wrong, but life is short, and Londero will either last for some time, or be a flash in the pan. I'll remember his name when he turns into something. ;)

Good point. It does amuse me though, that folks like Darth and Front find so much to suspect on Rafa, but when other anomalies pop up, not a peep. Obviously, this will not be on their radar yet, but it's exactly the kind of thing that should be discussed, and yet, is not interesting to the fan boys.

Since when is there not a peep? I suspect tons of players of doping. I was calling out Errani years before she was caught. And bear in mind most of us aren't watching this Mickey mouse tournament so we're not even likely to have seen this guy play. I only checked this thread out cos of all the replies.

Again Errani. There are 3 players you suspect and you mention them over and over again. You rarely ever go digging around at suspicious results. And you pooh-pooh results you don't like. Let's face it...you have one agenda. And please don't think that you have to go after Londero, just because I'm calling you out. That would be too obvious.

Londero up the early break in the 3rd, after dropping the first. Finally Tennis Channel puts it on. Now I get to watch the kid play.

EDIT: Back on serve.

From what I'm seeing now, Pella has a bit of a powder-puff serve. Both use a lot of spin, but Londero is the more aggressive. Also, he's the more local to Córdoba, so has the crowd support. Londero breaks again and will serve for it 5-1.

Londero, the WC, wins it! Won his first ATP tour match on Monday, and the title on Sunday. I wonder who's ever done that?

How about match fixing? :lol6:
Funny, but the commentator I was watching did say, "If you'd picked Londero, you'd have won a lot of money." I'm not trying to imply anything, but I am asking those who throw shade around these threads to own up to what really excites suspicion, and what doesn't.

This was totally unexpected. Nothing on his resume until today was pointing to anything like this.
Mind you, these are the events, where the unexpected could happen, although many well known clay court specialist were in the field.
Let's see if he could back this up.

Londero leaps into the top 100 at #69 in the live rankings with this win.

While the result may be surprising, it does not necessarily mean there is some foul play here. Sometimes things like this happen and suddenly a new player develops mojo. I actually feel that the chances of foul play of some sort or other here is negligible.

Right. Sometimes things just happen. TBH, I watched Londero finally this evening, and he has chops. My complaint is with folks like Front, Darth and britbox, who tell us that we're naive to think that there's not a lot of foul play out there, but they don't really look for it. At least Britbox is a true sceptic. Darth and Front are just looking for excuses to slag Nadal, let's be honest.

Match fixing happens quite a lot in tennis. But, those usually happen in matches below the regular ATP tier matches. i.e., mostly restricted to challenger and futures matches. That also logically makes sense as at that level people make so less money that it is tempting to make a quick buck by indulging in fixing. I don't think match fixing happens even at the ATP 250 level (although Davy was accused of that).

In Cricket, it has happened at the highest level. That is really atrocious.

One more time, I didn't watch a single match of this tournament so I can't comment on something I didn't watch. The players I and others call out we have actually seen play and I know when my eyes have seen something that just doesn't add up. Obviously enough too if the players have been linked to unscrupulous doctors, that immediately sticks out and no one needs to go looking for anything.

No, someone needs to go looking, if there's a question. You are so given to being convinced where you want to be. I don't fault you for not watching this tournament, but I really don't think you have demonstrated any real investigative skills as to the wider tennis world. You have a very small world-view when it comes to doping. You see what you want to see, and don't look further.

Oh, right, except for Davydenko. And no one cares about cricket. Let's be honest.

And anyone cares about ultra marathon or figure skating? Oh they do when you try to sell your agenda.
