LOL what happened?

At the end of the first set, F3 just "went away". I don't know how else to describe it. Then toward the end of the 2nd, again he made some really stupid errors and then he basically gave up. Why is it that some of the most talented players are so tragically flawed between the ears?

Ferrer for his part, was steady as always - pouncing on whatever opportunity was afforded him.
