I couldn’t remember everyone he beat here last year (except Rafa, of course), so I looked it up. He did extremely well. Dropped one set.Two words: Borna Coric.
1 year anniversary of his Cincy win.

Dropped a set to the oldest guy in the tourney. What does that say about these young bucks?I couldn’t remember everyone he beat here last year (except Rafa, of course), so I looked it up. He did extremely well. Dropped one set.

Coric had a run for the ages! He came back from the dead to overcome Rafa, then preceded to dismiss seasoned vets who were on their own winning streaks! I figured Stefanos would bring him back to Earth, but he choked away the Final in straight sets! Now Borna is playing better and stole the 1st set off Korda who was in control until it mattered!I couldn’t remember everyone he beat here last year (except Rafa, of course), so I looked it up. Bloody rain again, Borna really needs this win, his play of late has really been sub parCoric sneaks out the opening set over Korda.
It was a great run by Coric, looking back. And you can't say that Tsitsipas "choked" it away, when he lost 7-5, 6-2. Just because he's the higher seed? That's bullshit. If he'd "choked" it, he should have led at some point. Did he ever even have a lead? Tsitsipas is a becoming a perennial also-ran. Even to Coric. Stephanos has a lot to think about, as far as opportunities he's squandered.Coric had a run for the ages! I'd have to look at the stats, but I do believe he broke Borna in the first set, but couldn't hold on to the lead. Then went down pretty meekly in the 2nd set.It was a great run by Coric, looking back. And you can't say that Tsitsipas "choked" it away, when he lost 7-5, 6-2. Just because he's the higher seed? If life is like a box of chocolate. Well if I'm watching Isner play I hope that some of the chocolate is made of Exlax
I was looking for a play-by-play, too, but can't find it. Point is, Tsitsipas is/was then a top player, and Coric was ranked something like 157 in the world when they met in that final. Even if he ever went up a break in the first, he lost it. And, as you say, the Greek clearly went down meekly in the 2nd set. That's not a "choke," it's a beat-down. I get so tired of people saying that a top player "chokes" in 2 or 4 sets. Tennis has this lovely structure whereby you can restart at the end of a set, and take it to the last possible moment. If you lose in 2, (or 4, in Bo5,) that's not choking. That's getting getting beaten, fair and square.I'd have to look at the stats, but I do believe he broke Borna in the first set, but couldn't hold on to the lead. Don't get your hopes up on FAA making it to the 4th round.I just realized this but we could potentially see an Alcaraz vs. Fils match in the 4th round!
In addition, with a much needed win by FAA today, we could potentially see Rune vs FAA in the 4th round too!
Absolutely horrible conditions spawned horrific tennis by those twoFritz beat Lahecka in straights, but the first set was a bit of a trip. Fritz was down aa break, but even it up, then won the TB 16-14, with lots of DFs on both sides. Apparently the win is tricky today.
