I thought he was quite fortunate to have made it thru w/ some very defensive shots allowing his opponent to choke & give him the pt.!

C-dal's defense is still unparalleled IMO. He can win matches against poor matchups based on that alone. That's why I patiently await for those damn knees to collapse on him. They are supposedly ginger right?

His ability to defend is a talent which very few players have. Tough to watch, but it has been effective. Only a fully fit Djokovic can match his physicality.

I was hoping FAA was going to get a chance to qualify for Cincy, even maybe a WC but that would be wishful thinking. What is the cut off for being able to enter the qualies there? Or say US Open? I would like the kid to play more.

There is no way he will get WC into MD. There are only four wild cards available. Normally, these are given to US players. This year, they had to hand two of them to Andy and Stan. It is natural that they wanted to reserve the remaining to Americans.

The last direct acceptance into the quals is ranked at 128. FAA is competitive and his current ranking is 120. Remember that the cut off is based on six weeks before the tourney and at that time FAA's ranking must have been below 128. Usually, under this type of circumstances they try to give WC to such a player, unless there are too many such players.

I'm here at the event and severely disappointed. Was hoping C-Dal would come here and wear his supposedly tender knees down more. Also Cibby has pulled out and Giorgi, Vekic and Putintseva lost in qualifiers. It's like there is a conspiracy to remove all the beauty from Cincy
Hope el cabron de Federer with his supposedly “surgery knee” loses in Cincy, anyone to win but him

No Nadal was not avoiding Djokovic he would have easily beaten Djokovic much better hard court form than Djokovic this season.

lol did you see his draw? And aside from slick grass this is his worst event on tour and he just had a fairly tough week against weak players in Toronto. He had no chance to win this.
man nadal still won this event in 2013 beaten federer on the way, if you think nadal would have lost thats your opinion, but even if he lost he still would have made the semi finals.

Djoker at his worst is probably 50-50 on a hardcourt with Nadal. He did just play mediocre at Wimbledon and still beat Nads.
We all know Djokovic would have lost if it was outdoors dude thats just a fact, nadal will prove that at us open.

He barely beat a horrific version of Federer in his worst year on tour since 2001.

And we all know the only reason Nadal has been competitive at Wimbledon is because they've made the grass stupidly high bouncing. Even indoors it was still bouncing too high but not high enough for Nadal to beat a shell of Djokovic :D

Felix plays this week, but not in this master. He will play in Vancouver in a Challenger.
