I am not sure if I heard it correctly but but here is how the conversation went at the net between the person and Roger. The person, by the way, is one of those guys they bring down for the coin toss and some pics:

Roger- Are you from around here?
Person, Yeah, I am the Mayor !

Roger lifts his hands , sort of apologetic ....

Funny.

That's brilliant. They could have told Federer beforehand though.

Did you see this? Andy overheard Serena. He was playing on centre court and he could hear the interview. Oops! Funny though.

Federer turns the set around 0-2 >> 6-4.

that long rally near the start followed by a classic in/out fh winner seemed to help fed settle.

Djokovic did not ease the burden on himself of having to defend everything in the fall with his showing at the North American hard court events.

I have not checked results of the years passed, but this has to be one of the lamest Canada/Cincy combos of his career, at least as a member of the big 4.

Monfils is really monfilsing it up.

Should Novak play Winston-salem, haha? Steal some point from Big John.

Wow, shock loss for Djokovic. Pretty stunned there. And in straight sets too. What happened?

Lol... beaten by Robredo. Congrats Tommy.

Long exhale of exasperation. Maybe Boom boom is telling him to focus on slams...

:s

If that's the case, Baggy Eyes should have told him getting beyond the third round was important for momentum.

And even before Djokovic's Toronto/Cincy losses, I had the impression he may not do so well this year indoors, because of the problems he's having with Federer.

Nadal, 2-time runner-up at the World Tour Finals, will hopefully cash-in this year.
Federer loves the indoor season, and could well take most of Djokovic's titles.

Even outdoors, Federer beat Djokovic at Dubai this year, and pushed Djokovic to a 3rd set tie-breaker at Indian Wells, and beat him on clay.

Who knows? Novak has had more disappointing summers overall the previous two years and still been the king of the fall. I wouldn't write him off on the basis that Rafa has gotten to a couple finals in the fall. Fed is definitely a realistic threat every year though.

Not that Rafa isn't a threat, just no reason really to expect poor results from Novak.

This wasn't one of Djokovic's worst performances, just that Robredo was too good.
Robredo has said that he's playing better than ever, so I knew he had a good chance of winning.
Djokovic doesn't serve you off the court, so if you are just slightly more consistent than him on the baseline, you can win.
Plus Robredo was hitting more aggressively than Djokovic, and I've often found this year that Djokovic is playing a too defensively.

Roger wants to play the third set, as I didn't get to see the first one. How kind?

When I said "he may not do so well" I mean he may not defend his indoor titles. I'm doubting that Djokovic will beat Federer much indoors.

Federer is getting better as the year progresses, and already has given Djokovic fits on all surfaces.

Djokovic is still the favorite in an indoor meeting with Nadal, so I'm really referring to Federer foiling Djokovic's plans.
