po Jimbo...lol he was hiding his face in shame...tehehehe
dont care for Sloane or pova...

I think that Grigor is gonna sleep on the couch 2nite.. No happy time with Masha..:snigger
lots of thirsty groupies in Cincy tehehe ....

Man.. I would love to be a fly on the wall in the women's ladies room with Pova... the 2nd most is to hear how she is reacting, what she has to say and how she is gonna get debriefed by Connors.. I thought Pova has a reality show on TC.. if so .. this stuff 2nite would be priceless
I think the coaching setup is not to blame, its just pova who is rusty...

The first words Sloane said in her on-court interview:

"No-one beats me 4 times in a row"

I guess Sloane had to prove you wrong, this win solidifies her bragging status, she has defeated two legends now.
I dont really care for Sloane and never will...I like true Champions like Federer,Serena,Venus and Rafa ...Sloane doesnt come off as a champion but an opportunist..

You've made it clear that you don't like Sloane, though I wonder if it really pre-dates the "Serena incident." Why hasn't Sloane got "champion chops?" I would say she does. And I'm not sure why you find her an "opportunist," or why that should be an insult. The best take their chances when they get them. Think Federer in 09 when Rafa got knocked out; no one handed him the tournament, he had to take it, but he did. I think great champions are also great "opportunists." Many see the window open in front of them, but not everyone can walk through it.

Somehow I remember him liking Sloane before then...

Where does Maria go from here? Does she take a wildcard into New Haven to get more match play or do we think she heads on to the US Open?

Ok, fair enough, then, but I stand by the rest of my argument and questions.

She needs matches not practice. She skipped Stanford & Toronto to practice and look where it got her.

Very good question.

I doubt she would do New Haven. I will be really happy if she did.

I would take the WC into New Haven if I were Maria. She and Vika look very patchy and if they want a shot at the Open they will need the match play. Serena is winning with her B-/C game so far, but she will have to turn it up too to retain her US Open title. Hopefully, Serena can get this title. This is one of the few missing from her resume.

The big difference is that Radwanska makes adjustments and will do what Sloane just did to Pova.. let her beat herself.. I am quite sure that her and the coach has a plan

Sunday, Serena doesn't really care about Cinci. She will be happy to play a couple of matches and then withdraw citing some soreness so she doesn't overdo it for the Open.

I would be disappointed if she pulled out. But you do have a good point there.

Serena doesn't seem like she is on that kick. She seems pretty determined to win any and everything she can. We will see what her first match here shows. I think it will depend on if her matches are straightforward or not.

Remember. She has to play 5 days straight again to win this title. I don't know that she will want to do that.

Serena has a week off before the US Open if she can do Madrid and Rome before the French then I have faith she can do the Toronto/Cincy onslaught before the US Open. She will get a week off after this.

Exactly! The Open isn't like she'll lay everyday.
