Petko won the second set in the tie breaker, the final set is being played.
Sara won in 3 sets, it took 2 hours 20 minutes.
Stosur won in straights.

Serena is behind an early break, she lost the first game while serving.
Genie is out of the bottle!

Serena better pick it up if she doesn't want to get bounced. Loses the first set 6-4.

Is she doing her "Kerber" performance from last year? You know, the obvious tank with dramatics?

Her serve is horrible so is the return. Hard to say. I mean she is trying, but the timing is off on everything.

Well she shouldn't play if she is just going to be miserable and mopey every time she goes there.

I'm guessing she doesn't want to take a zero.

Looks like Serena's forcing that "Genie" back into that bottle.

Isn't this a required tourney, not sure?

Yeah, she either plays mopey or she pulls out before it starts.

I think she'll pretty pull a tank or withdraw before the tourney is done.

Yup, this one is mandatory.

Now up 4-0 in the decider, Serena is putting the hammer down.
I am surprised Genie came out of the bottle and took a set from Serena.
But that's Genie for you, the future of WTA in Canada.

I think Serena will try and see where she can get here. She definitely needs the match play and practice. Her game is still very hit or miss at the moment.

It's hit or miss because she could care less about these smaller tournaments. She appears ready to exact revenge at the USO for her early Wimby exit that she isn't putting much into these warmup events.

That's the vibe I am getting. Her play over the last 3 tournies is more indicative of the old Serena, not going all out. Heck, if you go back to Miami, she was playing this way, i.e Cibulkova match, even in the final against Maria in that first set, although Maria did play really well.

Her form wasn't hit or miss minus Miami earlier this year. Her form tanked after the French Open. She cares about her form. Don't think she wants to head into the US Open without the serve and the return clicking. Her ground game usually follows form to those two things.

Sunday, I'm not saying she doesn't care about form. Here's an example. She played like crap for most of today, right? When she decided to stop making errors, she put pressure on her opponent and forced some errors from Genie. She knows what needs to happen for her to be successful. It's about execution. Some days her level is near the basement, other days it's on the roof.
