damn! This is an interesting strategy by Magnus. Walk the king to the queenside and set up a rook battery against the white king. It looks slow though. Very old school

Looks very slow and tough to activate the dark-squared bishop which is probably needed for a good attack here.

Yup. I can only imagine what Vishy thought when he saw Magnus's response to his e4. I would be surprised if this doesn't fizzle out to a draw somehow

If Magnus has a weakness it might be that he often tries too hard to win and this may end up being one of those games. Even with the 2 bishops I don't like this position here

Ka1 looks pointless to me. I think Vishy was hoping to sac an exchange with Rxe7 but Magnus ducked it

Yes black does look a bit shaky. I would rather play the white side

If the attack doesn't make its way home it will be tough to hold. Those pawns are as loose as Jenna Jameson.

Ne1, hmm, just seems to give d4 easily but maybe I'm missing something

Caruana's position looks very strong already. When you're hot you're hot

Nc2, d3 is leading to complications that should've been avoidable for white

Draw agreed, pretty disappointing. Anand's play was uninspired in this tournament from the beginning. Didn't win a single game

Fabi is just crushing it at the moment. He'll be a worthy challenger. Seems to be separating himself from the rest at last. Still don't think he can beat Magnus if Magnus plays his game

All about consistency for Caruana. Hoping he's turned a corner as that would make for a great clash with Carlsen.

If Fabi wins the US Championships, and he's a huge favorite with So and Nakamura stinking up the joint lately, the momentum he would have gathered early this year would be a real best case scenario on his way to challenging Magnus.

It's fascinating watching Carlsen play right now. His early middle game has become so strong. But something strange seems to be happening. It almost feels like he's so preoccupied with time management or he's becoming more indecisive about how to capitalise on his good positions. It really looks like it's becoming a problem.

Watching him playing Giri right now. He seems to be outplaying him, but unlike a couple of years ago when an edge like he has right now would have been money, now I'm actually expecting a draw

He ain't messing this up now. Giri could resign here with a clear conscience

Wow, I didn't even know a big tourney was going on with the NBA playoffs in full effect. I see Carlsen won as black vs Giri and is a half point ahead of Ding with one round left and those two play each other.

Lol! It's all happening. Between this, the US champs and NBA playoffs - not even mentioning champions league football and the end to the premier league season I haven't paid the clay season any mind

Wouldn't chess be an ideal game in which GOAT should be determinable without much controversy.

In Bridge it is difficult to say who is GOAT as it is a partnership game.
