Wild game through 22 moves. Karjakin is up a pawn and has the two bishops but the king is pretty weak. However, I don't think Carlsen's attack is THAT strong yet.

I definitely like white here. Carlsen's pieces are not active enough to take advantage of the doubled f pawns and Karjakin has slowly improved his position the past few moves here.

Still likely a draw barring any silliness like last game. Carlsen should remember he has 3 games left after this and not go all kamikaze again.

Kind of crazy that an awkward move like 32. Rb5 holds Black's position together but it does.

Magnus just blundered with Ne7. No way Sergey misses Qb3 with so much time on his clock. Magnus in severe time trouble.

Qb3, nf5 Bxf7 Kg7 doesn't look pretty but there'd still be some fight.

Oh hadn't realized this would have been Sergey's 40th move, so it makes sense that he took this long. That said, he missed the best move.

It's a draw now, well defended by Carlsen but he only has three chances left and he has been thoroughly outplayed over the last 4-5 games.

Karjakin is now playing on in a hopelessly drawn position. Kind of funny to see him give Carlsen some of his own medicine here.

Interesting... the engine is suggesting 15... b5. But why wouldn't white play 16. Nd5; Nxd5 17 Bxd5

Only the 16th move for Sergey coming up and he's barely got 30mins left. Magnus has over an hour. Could this be the start of the comeback? I actually quite like his position. Better piece development, not sure about the the black knight on e7, and the white square bishop looks limited unless he goes for e6 at some point to exchange it off. Not sure why Magnus would comply

Time might be a big factor. It's only move 18 and Sergey is down to under 30 mins.

Magnus lost me there. Why did he exchange the bishop?

^^^ Sergey now actually has a forced draw as a result, after Kxf2.

This has been a strange match. Sergey has been Sergey. But it's like Magnus has his mind on other things. Maybe some hot Russian girl has been distracting him

I was on the same page as you, but obviously Sergey doesn't agree

Amazingly, Sergey does not go for that line... Interesting. Balsy decision.
