Azarenka v Stosur in the final
Azarenka has a 8-0 h2h over Stosur. From memory I think Stosur has taken 1 set off Azarenka.
Good luck Samantha you will need it.

I'll say Vika or Petra. Cibulkova, I don't see that happening, not a week to week winning player.

I was on point about Cibulkova! Not a week to week force, and this is why she isn't in the top ten.

I wonder why Cibulkova can't win week to week?

Because she's inconsistent. Her results this year have on the whole been pretty average, and below her normal standard even. The competition in Carlsbad was a step up from the competition in Stanford as well. Only player in the top 30 she had to beat last week was Radwanska.

Stosur has difficulty winning because she spends the entire match trying to run around the back-hand in order to hit the forehand. If her serve is off by just a little her entire game breaks down. That said, Vika is coming back from injury and very little tennis play in the past few months. I expect a lot of errors and maybe Sam taking one set from Vika. Whatever the outcome I would love to see a good competitive match.

IMO, Vika looks heavy in the middle. This outfit isn't very flattering either.

Vika is slow out of the gates. Sam up 3-1

Come on, Sam! This is your chance at Vika. Right here, right now. And what a great boost of confidence it would be heading into the USO.

Sam is channeling your confidence Tented. She takes the opening set 6-2. I expect Vika to pick it up and rally in the 2nd set. Can Sam keep her foot on the gas and take the title?

Yep, that's the big question, isn't it? She can be really shaky when the end is in sight. What do you think?

It's her first tournament back. She did well to get to the final. She'll improve and hopefully her form is good when the USO rolls around.

She did look rusty. Don't get me wrong: Stosur played a very good match to win today, and has had a good tournament all around, but Vika was not herself. I'd love to see them meet in New York.
