maybe Janky can win this ....she has home court advantage.

Was her mega mansion ever finished??
it had become a white elephant:snigger but she seems to have finally completed the thing and has a house warming party during this Carlsbad event...

That's good news, Toss :clap

I'll say Vika or Petra. Cibulkova, I don't see that happening, not a week to week winning player.

I was on point about Cibulkova! Not a week to week force, and this is why she isn't in the top ten.

Six of the top eight seeds make it to the quarters. This is getting good!

I'm rooting for Aga, but I have a feeling either Azarenka or Kvitova will ultimately win.

Petra is having a tough time with Virginie, had to win the first set via tie-breaker.
I just don't see Petra winning this, Vika will be very difficult to beat.
Logic says Petra, Vika and Aga will make the semis.
I don't know about Ana vs. Roberta, Roberta double bagel'd Ana the last time they played!

What I'm curious about is, how the heck did Virginia Razzano get a wildcard?

Whoever that gave her the wild card is looking mighty good, Virginie already beat Svetlana and Carla and boy, is she giving Petra all she can handle.
Petra lost the second set to Virginie 7-5, her serve was broken in the 12th game.

Razzano just beat Kvitova 6-7(6), 7-5, 7-6(8), after 3:35.

Definitely worth the wildcard.

Is anyone surprised Petra lost? She needs a new coach and a sports psychologist.

Kvitova doesnt play well in America:nono its the humidity that bothers her and I just think she gives up before a match..

Didn't Petra play well last summer leading up to USO? Vika has a good chance at the title. Can someone who watches her tonight post observations about her movement/lingering effects of her injury?

There is no lingering effects of her injury, and she is at about the level you'd expect her to be, at this stage in the US hard court season.

Wow, Ana actually took a set from Vika? This after being bagel'd the first set, I thought Vika will kill her like last time...

Good Job Ana, and I mean it!
