This is more like it by Novak, but I have to say when he plays Richie I feel more comfortable than against other players less accomplished.

Makes sense...it is almost like Gasquet knows he is not supposed to win, unlike, say, a newbie who thinks he can take on anyone because he does not know any better.

There also is an issue about his physicality. He looks spent. Gasquet is not the strongest dude among the top players and he had a very tough battle late last night against Nishikori, where he had to defend his fortress.
An eventual win last night by Kei would've displaced Richie from the top 10 for the first time since last year November and Kei would have been replacing him there.

Well, nice hitting session for Nole. I don't expect any different from Rafa tonight, so both will be pretty fresh tomorrow. 52 minutes. No dance I hope....oh no, here it comes...crowd is asking for it....darn..at least no wig so far......

I think it's great that he has all the ball kids involved. Then he speaks to the crowd in French. :)

Well, I had to blink away and missed that whole match. I guess Ritchie wasn't making any in-roads on the dismal H2H.

so they are all getting brutalized by nole here. istomin had a bit of a chance last night but that is about it.

mayer got 3 games. now gasquet gets 3 games.

and probably nadal will get 3-4 games. it is what it is.

nadal is not going to get it done against nole. at least I cant see it.

how the hell is going to get nole`s serve back? that is game, set, match right there alone.

you cant win if you cant break.

At this point I'm pretty sure Clay is adopting a strategy I often employ...reverse jinx. Nole is the favorite tomorrow for sure but Rafa only winning 3-4 games and saying Nole's serve is unreturnable?

I see Rafa has taken to tugging his front as well as the back of his shorts! Classy.
