Simona Halep pulled out due to Calf injury and although Coco lost the final qualifying match, she got in as Lucky Loser.
would it be interesting if Yulia Putintseva has to play Coco in the main draw again?
I like Putintseva a lot and she is right about Coco being one dimensional...now WTA wants to fine her but didnt do anything about Sloane and Medina Guerrigues...

this is Coco s word against Putintseva, there were no witnesses plus the match was not televised.Coco needs to get over it and start playing well because she is pretty much stagnant at this time.I think the American got her feelings hurt and decided to use twitter to badmouth the russian and thats just as bad.
How can she Coco a 6ft player lose to a 5ft1in player....

In the ATP forum there's a complaint thread that the men's game is too genteel, vis-a-vis trash talk. Apparently not so much on the women's side.

Lindsay also chimed about Putintseva not having class....lol..she should be the last person to say that.SHe has forgotten how she used to curse like sailor during her matches in front of millions and alienating and ganging up on the sisters in the locker room.Lindsay was very bitter after that 2005 loss to Venus and her bitterness still creeps in when she is commentating on Serena s matches...

Her game can't be that awful. She won a set off of her. I admit she doesn't have the best game, but still don't come up to someone after the match and diss her. Though we are in the age of youngsters calling people out thanks Sloane for starting a new trend it looks like.

Coco has this sense of entitlement about her that is annoying and thank goodness Yulia put her place after she refused to shake hands...

After getting rained out, Sloane finally finished her match and she won, it took 3 days and 3 sets though! She has to play again, today!!
Lil' Domi did not make it past the first match, she is still very inconsistent this year.
It took Jie 3 sets to beat Mallory and for that win, she gets to play Caro today!
Some of the girls have to play 2 matches today.

It looks like Zheng is on the roll causing trouble for Wozniacki. She's won the first set 61
Wozzy already has been broken twice in the second set and daddy's advise hasn't helped so far
Wozzy is finally on the board
Is Wozzy making a come back? She just broke Zheng who was serving for the match
Wozniacki is out. She lost 26, 46. Another bad loss for her

Caro looks helpless out there, she seems lost.
This was a good chance for her to get back ahead of Samantha but no, another missed oppurtunity for Caro.

I turned it off! There was nothing there to watch.

I could imagine that this is the way Caroline is feeling right now:

bth_girl-crying.gif

Ok let me write a bit about this new 1st round loss. They are 2 players knowing each other very well and on friendly terms. Zeng had a couple of hours earlier a win over Burdette - a 3 setter - building up confidence. Zeng played a very good match where everything except a few went her way, Losing first set 26 and behind 15 in second - 2nd set was the best where we saw glimpses of great play from both girls. Much of Caro's problems are mental but also inspired players who know her bad clay streak and gain confidence from that alone. Zeng deserved to win no doubt about that and both players played well in the last part of 2nd set. Well Caroline must be nice to see that only 1 clay tournament is left, but you have to get at least to the third round in FO. Good luck with that - hope you go out and eat some Belgian specialities like the waffles and chokolate. I would happily go under in Belgian beer like Leffe and hope I won't get a major head ache. Ok no danger for that I have to go to work tomorrow. I guess I'll have a single beer and let my thoughts go down memory lane remembering when you had some good wins. I wish for you that it goes up hill from now on - leave the walley to someone else:heart:

Georges has just withdrawn losing to Romina Oprandi 63 00 so only 2 single matches left where i think Flipkins match will be postponed for tomorrow. Vinci playing right now leading 43 in 1st set.

Putintseva better win this event ...just to vindicate herself.Coco as usual gets knocked out early..
Yulia is hardworking and it shows on this fireball and Coco is to be honest lazy and doesnt seem like she wants to win....
Go Yulia!!!

Well again a rainy day. They were lucky to be able to end 4 matches. Tomorrow will be another double match day for the remaining 2 quarterfinals where the winners are going to meet eachother - at least they have the same conditions so to say - but tough it is. Schedule will come a little later.

Friday 24th of May - a quarter-semifinal day ;-)

Center Court

11:00 [7] Varvara Lepchenko (USA) V Kaia Kanepi (EST) Quarter final 36 64 67 match finally ended!
12:00 Jamie Hampton (USA) V [2] Roberta Vinci (ITA) Quarter final 57 63 75
15:30 Romina Oprandi (SUI) V [8] Shuai Peng (CHN) semifinal postponed
17:30 Winners from match 1 and 2 - semifinal postponed

Not much positive for the leaders of this tournament - rain rain rain. I understand that this tournament will continue as an international next year and I must say that that will be better as long as the facillities are so bad. Very few has made their way to watch the matches. No lights on the courts - why is that - still the same in FO? I'll put in the results when they appear.

Really bad conditions have made it neccessary to move indoor to play the doubles - the second doubles match has started - well well what about the singles - they have another tournament to take part in shortly. It's really not the best start for the players. Well conditions are bad in Paris too - Caroline twitted this 22 hours ago:

Caroline Wozniacki ‏@CaroWozniacki 22t

8 degrees and hailing in Paris... #globalwarming?

Nice to see she hasn't lost her humor:)

I just saw the end of the win for Hampton over Vinci. Great win for her! However, the stands were completely empty. You could hear the birds chirping. That's not a great endorsement for the women's game. WTF WTA?
