Just watched the clip of Nick flinging his racket. He claims he’s only human. But humans can also be intelligent creatures. He flung it without regard for where it went. There needs to be reprisals for this. The men’s games needs to hold players to account properly for violent behaviour on court. The ITF do this better, but the ATP needs to start banning players for reckless, violent behaviour…

Just finished watching Alcaraz match which I recorded

Carlos Alcaraz is the youngest men's semi finalist since Agassi in 1988
Carlos is growing into his man's body already. Very similar to Rafa's body. All of the NEXT Gen had BETTER make their move because that man-child is coming.

Hopefully him and FAA are the real future of this. Jannik too…
Too soon to tell on him but the Danish kid Rune looked promising in his Berrettini match.
Great win for Rafa. Can’t believe he’s playing a kid who prolly wasn’t even born when Rafa first beat Roger. It’ll be a great day for the two of them, and for Spanish tennis…
Except:
“Carlos has a great team next to him. I think he will be unstoppable in terms of his career. He has all the ingredients and passion.

Also, he is humble enough to work hard. Carlos reminds me a lot of myself when I was 17 or 18. I think he has the passion, talent and physical components," Rafael Nadal said.

They aren't going to do anything because they're spineless.

I agree. It’s crazy, isn’t it?
Yep. Honestly, I think it would take some of the higher profile players boycotting these M1000s until they put some better governance in place.

I would love to see Fritz come through and at least make the semifinals. We have been hearing about how wonderful he is, but it just hasn't turned into major results. That may not be entirely his fault, the competition is fierce. It just seems to me his ranking stagnated and he was sort of stuck. I know Covid and all the rankings issues may have prevented him from moving up, but now things seem to be clearing and it would be great for him to perform well so close to his home and family. Kathy May must be proud of her kid.....

True to form...Nick K got fined for "Unsportsman like conduct' in his match against Rafa.it will cost Nick, thousands of dollars in fines, though these fines mean nothing....Nick is a serial offender, unless the ATP decide to actually get a 'spine' the serial repeaters will continue to abuse on court.
$30,000 ( verbal and racquet abuse)

Probably, but it’ll never happen. Remember, one of the Big 3 was chucked out of a slam for violent behaviour - and spent an age on court trying to get the officials to deny reality…

Fritz had 3 SFs to donate his serve to Kecmanovic, just when he'd looked at breaks in the previous games. Strange. Come on, Taylor!

I see Rublev got rid of Dimitrov today. Good.

I am happy that Rublev is in the semifinals. I knew the moment Djokovic withdrew from the tournament, he should be the favorite to reach the final at the bottom half of the draw. I think he will win today against Fritz.

I'll be rooting for Fritz, but I think you are right.

Speaking of Fritz,

Personally I agree with his rebuttal, if his GF brings more younger people interested in tennis. Maybe I'm more jaded now, in the Khardasian social media era we live in, but she's a young woman living the glamorous lifestyle with a globe trotting tennis player so her video doesn't exactly shock me.

It doesn’t shock me either but I’d say of the 3.5 million people who watched it, only about 4 of them will pick up a racket, and the rest will be pimply faced teenage boys who’ll Google her name, alongside a word that rhymes with “food…”

GF? I thought Taylor married her after having child a few years ago! Update: They divorced I hadn't heard! So new GF it is! :astonished-face: :face-with-tears-of-joy::anxious-face-with-sweat:
