I don't know how many of you followed the quarters in Luxembourg but two things is clear to me. Lots of spectators in Luxembourg - none in Moscau. Hawk eye should be in all tournaments because there have been way to many faults from the linejudges in Luxembourg and that's a shame for those good matches we have been witnessing:cool:

There are more spectators in Moscow than Luxembourg. It's just Moscow's stadium is huge. Luxembourg's stadium probably holds around 1000 people. Moscow's holds 11,400. So even if there are 3000 people inside it looks empty. Luxembourg has also had less matches going on simultaneously than Moscow, which again spreads the crowds thinner across multiple courts.

I read on TW.Com that Sloane will be the no 2 sub for the YEC.?
Can someone confirm this is correct please?

Yes it is correct. Wozniacki #1 alternate. Stephens #2 alternate.

You are of course right, What I meant was that you must feel like there are no spectators. It gives a bad sound in the hall and there is very little atmosphere. We've got plenty of this in Luxembourg IMHO and it gave us e.g. some splendid quarterfinals yesterday. Another thing when are players fined for faking appearence in a tournament because watching a tournament like Moscau with NO top 10 players :nono . Something rotten in Suburbia.

I don't really understand your question. But I think if I am right the answer is player's are only fined for late withdrawing (which is deemed as after the Q draw is released) from commitment events, or if you just withdraw and don't cite a reason, but obviously it's easy to just cite a medical reason of some kind.

Moscow wasn't a commitment event for Kerber. And the other 3 top 10 players withdrew before the Q draw was released (and wasn't a commitment event for any of them anyway).

Stefanie retired in the second set and Sent Annika Beck into the finals.
The first doubles semi ended with retirement too.

Hoergren, do you have the stats for Caro/Sabine match?
I wanted to know the number of winners and UEs for each player.

Na they didn't show it but I think the stats from the livescore part say a lot:

2 aces 1 df Sabine 2 aces 4 df
70% 1st serves in of which she won 68%
The big difference was second serves
11/20 won (55%) against Sabines 6/17 (only 35%)
Saved 71% breakpoints Sabine 0%
Second return points won
11/17 (65%) Sabine 9/20(45%)

And Caroline played close to the lines with both BH and FH (it's actually really good right now)

Kiu don't temp me maybe I like it too much ;)

According to the stats the big difference was the breaks, Sabine converted 2 of 7--->Caro was 4 for 4

That's correct nista. It was very close between Sloane and Roberta. Vinci's loss in Moscow to Kuznetsova sealed Sloane's fate.

Good to see Caroline back on track, though I do not talk about her much, I admire her classy style on the court and she has a very delightful personality. She does provide amazing photos when she plays, her contortions facially and body wise make for some outstanding pics!:D
