Sabine vs. Karin will be a good match, if one likes that kind of match.... there will be a lotta winners and UEs.

Sloane and Stefanie is hard call, it can go either way, I don't think it'll be a long match like last time though.

Yes. She would go to number 10 on Monday providing it wasn't Wozniacki she wasn't beating in the final and Vinci doesn't win Moscow.

However she could still finish top 10 if she wins Luxembourg if one of the latter 2 scenarios also happens, because she would then qualify for Sofia and have another chance to gain points.

Try to follow Piters match in Luxembourg - going into 3rd set after nearly 2 hours play - a surprise is waiting?

What a monumetal battle - I don't think either of the players will forget it Beck won 63 67 76. 3h 10m
Maybe the winner won't have much power tomorrow but boy what a match - well done ladies :clap:clap:clap:clap

This match is some battle Hoergren. Just tuned in when it was 2-2 in the decider. Every game is going to deuce. There's really nothing between these two. Both play really good defense and can create winners at the same time. 4-4. Who will blink first?

Well Sloane Stephens is on the verge of losing another match that she should win. And I don't foresee any great comeback. So frustrating.

Congratulations to Voegele for another win over Sloane. Sloane has not been present mentaly the last two weeks, so of you go to a hopefully healing off-season. Come back on top down under. At least try to play as if you like to play tennis:rolleyes:

After this Caroline must be 1st alternate in Istanbul but is still in danger for ending outside the top 10 - hope she goes on to win in Luxembourg though then all speculations are over. It's something to do with Vinci playing in Sofia.

This is why I harp about Sloane's mentality. She has the athleticism to be at the very top of the tour, but she does not have the will power to win. I think her ranking will hover around 10 for the next few years, but no major trophies unless she gets a brain transplant.

When Sloane goes into offensive mode she can be deadly

But for some reason she goes defensive when she gets a lead.

And thats when she gets into trouble.

It's called not having a killer instinct. Forget majors. She may never win a regular tour title until she can show her opponents some consistent aggression.

Voegele wasn't worried today, even when she went down a break in the 3rd set. Sloane's body language was so wimpy Stefanie just waited for the chance she knew she would have and kept the pressure on by holding her serve. Sloane continued to unravel just like previous matches.

Sloane's attitude is disgusting. It's like she doesn't even want to be there. She won't be defending her Semi points at Australia, so she'll eventually drop to what her true ranking should be. 20-30 range. I doubt she defends her Brisbane QF

Exciting quarterfinals today - all 3 setters when did that happen last time. Here is the schedule for the semifinal day - Saturday 19 October

Center court 13.30

13:30 Stephanie Vogt / Yanina Wickmayer (LIE / BEL) V Polona Hercog / Lisa Raymond (SLO / USA) 01 ret
16:00 Annika Beck (GER) V Stefanie Voegele (SUI) 75 10 ret.
18:00 [1] Caroline Wozniacki (DEN) V [3] Sabine Lisicki (GER) 64 64

I don't know how many of you followed the quarters in Luxembourg but two things is clear to me. Lots of spectators in Luxembourg - none in Moscau. Hawk eye should be in all tournaments because there have been way to many faults from the linejudges in Luxembourg and that's a shame for those good matches we have been witnessing:cool:

she seems to have low self esteem...she doesnt walk on court with confidence. The sisters at that age walked on court with swagger...win or lose.Self confidence is not bought at the store..:nono...thought her mother who studied psychology would strengthen that spine.Sloane does have athletic ability but I sometimes wonder if this is more her mother s dream than her own dream. She never seems to be enjoying herself on court... just fulfilling an obligation. She likes the slams because there is more money...
Her body language puts me off....just super boring ..just no charisma at all...:cry

The outcome of the match rests on Lisicki. Whether she has a mental collapse is impossible to predict. I will pick Lisicki in three sets.

I agree, Tossip. Bouchard will be a top ten player very soon. On a more frivolous note, I notice she has switched to Adidas. The gray Nike skirt was awful.
I like all your favourable comments on Eugenie. She has certainly captured a lot of followers not only here in Canada but around the world, not for just her charm and good looks but for her determined style of play. I think she now needs a good rest back in Montreal, it has been a monumental year for this 19 year old. If Alexsandra Wozniak can come back to her previous level of play it could give Canada 2 top ranked players, but by far, Eugenie has the greater potential to be a real top 15 or 10 player in the next year or two.:D I like the change of attire too!
