^ Several people are now posting on Twitter the accurate translation is "I do not break games."

(Actually, there are a few variations on that, but the big difference is "games" instead of "eggs".)

Here's "Rafa's PR man" :cover , Macho Man on twitter, there was a bit of a spat between young Ralph and FFS, maybe somebody can translate for us:

https://twitter.com/NachoMuhlenberg/status/627836352952958977

I had written you a longer explanation, but it got lost in the housekeeping changeover. Muhlenberg says it was about Toni talking. The snippet makes it hard to understand the subject, only that FFS is complaining that someone always does the same thing, and don't "break my balls." At the head of the clip, Rafa says, "no perdonaba," which could be interpreted as, "I don't excuse him," if Toni is the subject of the dust-up, but it really needs more context. I don't think Fabio does himself any favors with these tirades, and I do think going over to Rafa's side during the changeover is a bit aggressive. You have a chair umpire to arbitrate during the match.

This is why Rafa is on my "ugly" list! He thinks he's above everybody and all the rules! It's hard to believe someone as respected and appreciated as him can be caught up in these "dust ups" periodically because he's still being managed by his uncle as if he's a 15 y.o.! "Grow up Rafa and take care of business on your own! You're supposed to be a grown up now in the twilight of your illustrious career!" :cover :puzzled :nono  :dodgy:

I thought I made clear that it was only one person (Nacho Muhlenberg) who said he was talking about Toni. The rest is unclear in the video. Try not to set your hair on fire before you know the story, OK?

Fog said in Spanish "no me rompas los huevos" which is the wrong way to say, they usually say "no me toques los huevos" but I have not any idea why he was so mad though it was any surprise, he loves to make shows when he is losing, it wasn't the first time and it won't be the last one. But I see in the vid that Rafa told him: "go back to your side"

"No me rompes los juegos" is not an expression. "Don't break my games." "No me rompes los huevos," is. (Don't break my balls. "Eggs," in the colloquial, means "balls.") Fabio's Spanish is not bad, and I feel quite clear about what he said. I listened to it again, just to be sure. He said "huevos." (That can't be surprising. If he wanted to say, "Don't disrupt my games," he would have said it differently, in either Spanish or Italian.)

The expression in Italian is "rompere le palle." In Spanish you can use "romper" or "tocar." Naturally, Fog went for the closest Italian equivalent. (Useful language lesson for the day! )

So Foggy was accusing of Uncle Tony of disrupting his game by shouting/talking in other words coaching from the stands? Or just trying to get Foggy unraveled? And so Nadal replied he can't control his uncle? And the umpire is just sitting there? Which means Foggy was overreacting to whatever Uncle Tony was doing? Or just not wanting to get on Nadal's bad side and lose his sweet umpiring gig?

Carlos is banned from Nadal's matches since he "calls" time violations like he should! Just like I've been saying, this jerk thinks he deserves special consideration while playing! What a tool! :cover :nono  :dodgy: - I'll never understand why the ATP puts up with his crap? He's no longer worth it; on his last legs! :puzzled :nono

As I said, we only have one twitter source to tell us what they were talking about. The rest is conjecture. You might save it until you know what happened.

I'm sure we need a list of the dopiest/ugliest trophies, though I think Madrid would win.

Fog ( foolninny) has made racist remarks toward fellow players, gave the crowd the middle finger after a loss, threaten chair umpires several times and this creep rarely gets a find.....hmmm
I think Rafa has had a lot of self control, otherwise he should have punch the nose of that buffon:deadhorse

Carol--We are all aware of Fognini's past antics. But did you hear or read a transcript of what actually transpired on the court today? Do you know whether Uncle Toni was in fact loudly coaching (which would not be the first time this has come to people's attention)? What was said between FF and Rafa? Unless you have information about this, you are merely repeating old stories about Fabio, and telling us yet again that you LOVE Rafa.

I also read that Fog was complaining about some shots of Rafa he considered them very 'lucky'
Lucky shots of the 9 times RG Champion? totally ridiculous. I see that after to beat Rafa twice he thought he could make it again and then......the over reaction of his frustration :nono

These forums make me barf whenever a Nadal conversation springs up. He brings out the worst, and silliest, in everyone. Unfortunately, that's who 50% of the conversations are about.

From some of the pro-Nadal takes to Fognini "having the gameplan to beat Nadal down to a T, just like DJokovic," this thread has been littered with some garbage.

Sorry for being harsh. Carry on.

OK so in order to actually provide something constructive instead of just ranting about how bad this thread is, let me highlight just how insane the claim that Fognini and Djokovic's gameplans are similar.

Just for perspective, Fognini had never beaten Nadal before this year and had only managed to take a set off of him in their previous meetings. Of course, the fact that he beat Nadal this year could either mean "he has the gameplan down to a T," or that Nadal has been getting beaten by many people this year due to playing like garbage. I'm leaning towards the latter.

Fognini has always been a streaky, unpredictable, inconsistent player. He hits aggressively and plays low percentage tennis. If he gets hot, he gets hot. If he doesn't, it's unforced error galore. This often happens in the same match, or even in the same set. Check out his victory over Nadal in Rio earlier this year for evidence.

That high risk gameplan is absolutely nothing like the one Djokovic employs against Nadal. While Fognini can end points by hitting big, his rally shots aren't nearly as good as Djokovic, which is why he has to play even riskier than usual against Nadal. Meanwhile, Novak can actually construct points, pin Nadal behind his backhand, slowly open up the court, all the while playing within himself. Novak is also a much, much better mover than Fabio, so when Nadal gets the ascendency in the rallies, Novak can defend and turn them around without having to go for miracle shots, whereas Fabio has to go for some highly improbable shots from impossible positions which, to his credit, he sometimes pulls off.

Just because you hit your cross court backhand hard to Nadal's forehand doesn't mean you're employing the Djokovic gameplan. There's also the fact that Fognini is 5 ft 10, whereas Novak is 6 ft 2, which makes it infinitely easier for Novak to play within himself while handling Nadal's spin, but who's keeping track of facts, right?

Fabio's rally forehand isn't as heavy as Djokovic's either. The latter will use the spin to pin Nadal behind his backhand (ironic, isn't it?) and slowly open up the court. Fabio has to flatten out his forehand more and be more aggressive since he can't methodically use that pattern.

This is more ludicrous than Nishikori being a bad match-up for Nadal after the Madrid final. I just find it hilarious how between 2008-2013, there were literally two guys you'd call a bad match-up for Nadal (Novak and Davydenko, the latter being particularly impressive given his small stature), and one guy who was able to get the better of him on a semi consistent basis (Novak), and yet somehow, in the past 18 months, everyone from Nishikori to Wawrinka, to Fabio freaking Fognini are now "bad match-ups" for Nadal and have mastered the gameplan to beat him.

Either that or Nadal is just not playing well. I'll let you guys decide.

I hope FOG says something to Rafa at the US open series tournamentts . I like him playing with an edge or a chip on his shoulder. Btw, y do some of you refer Fognini as F3, is he 3rd generation Fabio?
