Wow, don't think Stan could have played a more ineffective tie-break if he'd bought a schematic showing him how to do it.. pffffft

Lawd! Stan seems determined not to break his tradition of R1 exits in Basel :(

I'm sure he doesn't want to play Roger eventually; if both were to make it that far! :nono  :dodgy: :p

Well if you have to find an explanation for why he should suddenly start playing like crap, I guess that's as good as any - maybe! :s

How can you win 4 consecutive points on Dr Ivo serves, to lose then all the next 4 serves of yours, that must be something unique...
Only Stan is capable of such thing:nono

And they say....."it's not how you start but how you finish" and it's soooo true
I saw the scores and Wawrinka had won the first set, I checked later and he lost the second and third set :cover

If you could think of a plausible reason why Stan would have thrown this match, you'd have to believe he did.. but I can't figure out any reason why he would... so I'll have to put it down to the lbs (no, not pounds, lame brain syndrome)

Grigor needs a new girlfriend or something...
Here everyone was saying Maria was the reason for him playing like crap, now 3+ months after that, I saw no improvement at all, he runs to the exits of the top 30 in a quick fashion.

I'm going out on a limb and say Grigor has this one! Nadal looks awful IMO; already rushing the net! He's nervous!

Morning to everyone on the wrong side of the planet! What did I miss while I was recharging?

Hmmm...Anderson easy win over Coric. A bit disappointing... :-/

WHAT THE...Wawrinka lost?! In the Basel 1st round!? AGAIN?! :eyepop :cover

Goffin won, ok....

Here we go Rafa vs Griggy...this one could be trouble for Rafa. Maybe a 2-6m 7-6(8), 7-6(5) win for Rafa and we get to see another joyous Ferrer-style celebration. At Basel. In the 2nd round.

Grigor is channeling 2013 (or Maria, not sure which), and playing well. But Rafa is playing catch-up, and he's quite good at that...

You need to take advantage of Nadal coming out "cold" in these matches! He often gives up a first set to just about anyone; ROSOL? It'll come down to serving for it in the 2nd set! That's when the "gutlessness" and choking take over it you let it! Even Nole's not immune! :cover :nono  :dodgy:

In this match, Grigor and Rafa will dispute who's decline is the sharpest!

Sorry but at this stage I expect that Grigor will do nothing more than fall flat on his face.
