The tournament said, according to commentators, that those who played a final on Sunday would get a Tues. start at the AO, but didn't happen for Sinner. Given how long and how close that match was, having a day of rest could have made the difference for Sinner. He DF'd a lot at the end, which suggests fatigue.

Sinner still took Shapo, the #11 player in the world to five. Not bad for the rising teenager.

Definitely not bad, but what if he'd had a day of rest? The 5th set was 6-4 Shapo. One break. There is a reason that I went back and forth between who might win that match, and there is a reason that I picked Shapovalov...because he was the more rested. I know there is a lot of piling on to Tennis Australia about the way things have been done, and I mostly don't have a problem, but in the very small one question, I don't see why Sinner had to play on Day 1.

You know who has surprisingly big calves in person? Mr. Roger Federer...I saw him practice live in Indian Wells in 2019, he does have big calves.

Agreed. Much was made of that with Murray and with Zverev, and they did and have put on muscle. But it comes with time.
