He has never been able to re-capture that form he had at the AO in 2009 when he played a amazing match against Rafa,one of the best matches I have seen live at Rod Laver Arena.

Verdasco is wearing a heart rate monitor,Jim Courier says it is a first,Lleyton Hewitt a co-commentator on the match says he has never seen a player wearing a heart rate monitor.

Not sure but I'm guessing before he quit playing Mardy Fish was also wearing one. Still hasn't officially retired but he clearly is retired at this stage. He was one of the most entertaining American players to watch and missed by many.
