Of course there are. Things get usually interesting by R3.
Berdych -Kyrgios takes the cake. Tomas was in the SF last year, Nick in QF.
The player who will lose this match will also lose lots of points.

The top three interesting Men's matches of today for me are

1. Bird vs. Nick
2. Thiem vs. Goffin
3. Fed vs. Baby Fed.

I pick Nick, Thiem and Fed.

I'm picking Berdych. I think he can hold up against the crowd and crazy mouth. :snicker:nono

AUSSIE Watch: After 4 days, three aussies left (from the 9 who started). Two of them, Tomic and Millman are playing against each other in R3.

I kinda fancy Kyrgios too. If he can concentrate on tennis, channel the crowd, Berdych isn't the brightest and may crumble. Nick has a better game, for me, too. I think if he rolls him, it could be a sign that Nick will go deep in this event...

Last year Seppi got a big scalp in R3. It would be nice, if he can do the same this year in R3.
Just a wishful thinking. :devil

I have a feeling Berdy loses too.

:cry No love for the Berd.

(I think he may lose too, but I can't bring myself to cheer for the basketball player).

I'll go against the trend, and repeating what I said in another thread (I guess), Berdych in three. Apart from the serve, Berdych does everything better.

Sorry, apart from the serve and the low blows.

Yeah, same with you. I cannot see myself backing up Nick, anytime soon. He will have to behave like a saint for a few years, then I could cheer him.
Also, I think Tomas is about 60% the favorite. What could work against him, will be the crowd and if he has a bad serving day, he could get tight.
Nick has a big popularity going for him, among the young fans. Apparently his matches are sold out.
Just imagine, if those young Aussies will use him as an inspiration on how to behave :cover:nono

Going deep would mean to take also Roger out, not just Tomas. And that, I am convinced is not happening.
If he defeats Tomas, he could equal his last year's performance, a QF. That is pretty good on its own, but not unprecedented, he has already 2 QF slam appearances.

Actually, if he plays as well as he can, it wouldn't be a huge surprise to see him defeat Federer. He has the advantage of youth but also he has some experience of big matches. I don't think he'd beat Federer, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did.

They're scheduled to meet in the quarters?

Yes, that would be a potential QF, if happens.

Well, Nick has never lost to Fed.
