Let me ease up your worry. Under no circumstances was monfils going to beat Nadal or even soften him up. There, now you can stop worrying about him being lethargic, playing doubles, and the number 1 ranking

LOL, well in all seriousness, I understand where you're coming from. No matter how confident we all like to act, deep down inside, most of us want the easiest paths for our player. I freely admit that I do. If it means Novak losing to Istomin (LOL! But bear with me), I'm completely fine with that. It's a weird internal conflict because part of us also wants great tennis, and the satisfaction of seeing our player beat his main rival(s), but sometimes, we don't want to "risk" it.
I don't see what's wrong with admitting this. It's nothing against Novak (or any other player).
