Just a outstanding performance from Vika,who controlled the baseline,her return of serve was outstanding in this match,apart from her bhand which is her strongest shot,it was her fhand that really impressed me.Vika also came forward to the net as much as possible

Sad to see Woz exiting so early. I think seeds should not always be determined by ranking. These two should have met later in the tournament. By leaving Vika unseeded, pure luck played a role in which top player was sent packing.

3 more seeds lost yesterday, total number of seeds lost is now at 14, this only after 2 rounds, lets see how many seeds are left after 3 rounds.

The matches are going to get tougher for sure.

I worked late last night and then crashed when I came home. Completely missed this match. I was wrong about her conditioning, but I'm glad I was wrong. This is very exciting for the women's tour. We don't have many active slam winners and we need all of them in the draw to shake things up and make it interesting.

I still don't think she will win the title, but I see she's channeling some of that Serena 2007 mojo (when she came in as a WC and defeated a host of seeds on her way to the title).

Hey KS, I heard that my Miss Drama Z was playing well and had ample opportunity to win the first set.. what happen to her during the 2nd set. Did Rena step up her game and roll the truck over her

That's exactly what happened...Serena snapped out of whatever daze she was in and rolled the truck forward, put it in reverse and did the same.

Yep. I just watched the match this afternoon I am still glad to see Miss Drama Z back.. the game needs mor characters like her ad I expect her to make it back into the top 40 by the US Open if she stays healthy

Vera had some real good elements of her game back. Needs to up her fitness a bit, but I was impressed how she played in the 1st set. Agree entirely, that her character adds fun to the game, she has always played her heart out and as we know wears it on her sleeve for all to see.
