Woznicacki v Azarenka...Standout match of the round for me.I think Azarenka will win in a closely contested match in 3 sets

Stosur v Vaneweghe.....I again will refuse to watch this match,it worked okay last time for me :)

Dellacqua v Keys Maddie will have to much overall power off the ground for Casey.Maddy to win.

WOW I cannot believe that they put Wozniaki Azarenka on Margret Court. Im not big on "oh its disrespectful," but come on. You've got two recent number 1s who have 6 slam finals between them including 2 Australian Open wins. Thats a marquee match for the second round.

Before their first round matches I thought Woz had this. Now I'm thinking it will go to 3 and if Azarenka's stamina doesn't fail her she'll win. It's a night match so she won't be as hit by the heat. I think her easy win over Sloane helped her confidence a bit.

Still I'll go with the safer bet: Woz in 3.

A few other matches that have caught my interest,

Lepchenko v Aussie Tomahawk, I was impressed how Tomahawk held her nerve,re-grouped to win her last match 6-0 in the 3rd set,she will be tested by Lepchenko in this match, who is more experienced.

Muguruza v Hantchukova....both ladies are big hitters of the ball, though I fancy Garbine in this match up,love the way she likes to take the ball on the rise, always looking to come to the net and finish off the point.

One of my fav youngsters on the tour Svitolina will be playing Nicole Gibbs,I think Elina will be too strong in this match up.

Serena versus Vera has the potential to be very interesting especially if Serena is off and Vera is hot.

Seems so weird to see Woz and the Owl playing in the second round. Hope Woz wins.

It's nice to see Vera back on tour...there was a moment there that I didn't think she'd be able to return. I wonder if she's fixed the mental midget problems she had before...having gone through that illness, I'd think it would make her stronger.:s

If Vika isn't in shape, she will be after tonight. :velo:

Woz will run her all over creation. She will be tired and out of position most times.

Woz wins this one right now. Maybe later in the year, I'll pick Vika.

Vera has also had big shoulder problems, which has been the main cause of her being off the tour for so long, she came back playing challenger events, one of these events she had to withdraw, when she first made her comeback.

After all these upsets and near exits, I think Serena knows she can't afford to be even a little off. She has to come out of the gate firing or she will surely lose her #1 ranking.

I can't imagine Vera has it in her to beat Serena these days, even if Serena isn't playing her best.

And also this isn't 2012 or 2013 Woz who couldn't seem to get over the hump when it came to comparable players...this is the more confident, fitter, minus 170lbs of dead weight Woz.;)

As much as I would like to think Vera may beat Serena, my brain overrules my heart, even though I have followed Drama Z so long.:dodgy: Vera also does such great work off the court, Retts Syndrome being her charity she supports so steadfastly, along with Galina Voskoboeva who still remains off the court.

Good comment, I will go with Caro, Vika needs more court time to propel her game into high gear.

Hmmm seeing I am the only one that picked Vika,I am still staying strong with my selection
I understand Vika needs more match practice, still she has been one of the best returners of the current WTA,she is solid off both wings, good transition to the net,can turn defense into offense.
