huh... i thought i'd complained about the night session scheduling in here - did i phrase it too harshly and it got deleted?

anyway - to be honest, if i were getting night session tickets for a slam, i'd kind of expect to see at least one top 20 player. with all due respect to the accomplishments of Stosur and Hewitt - i think they're going a little overboard with the patriotism.

Nothing was deleted from this thread. Are you sure you posted it?

Or do you mean this?

^ nah, funnily enough i want to complain about the same issue today. the rankings are a little higher this time around, but it's the same problem ;)

guess the first attempt today wasn't properly posted due to my computer throwing some fits, which seems to be its new hobby.

Monfils vs. Janowicz might be worth watching in a train-wreck sort of way.

I'm really looking forward to the battle of the 33 year olds - Lleyton Hewitt vs Benjamin Becker. 2015 could be their last year on the tour.

Maybe but you'd think they'd both wait for the Olympics next year I reckon as will many. I expect a ton of players to retire next year sadly :( For this match I think Becker will win. He's pretty fast and fit for an old dude in tennis years, more so than Hewitt.

Monfils v Janowicz should be a fun match
I kind of fell in love with Janowicz last year at the Australian Open,
"How Many Times" will forever be his Swan Song.

alright, this will hurt, as a reminder of how fast time flies by:
"How many times" was actually two years ago :)

Djokovic takes the first set 6-0. He is beginning to look ominous.

Kei had me worried there for a bit. Good to have a fairly tough match under your belt in the early rounds. Japan is going nuts over here. The nation might have sunk into a depression if he had lost. lol

Just curious. Which channel is showing the Australian Open in Japan these years?

Since a few years ago it has only been on Wowow, a cable channel except for some Wimbledon. But with Nishikori's success, the Australian Open has been made available on public television. I have been watching on Internet links, but it's nice to see the headlines and lengthy reports on the morning news as well.
The Japanese news shows even introduce a bit of tennis history to the public every day. This morning they were talking about who Rod Laver was and why his name is on the Arena. Pretty cool.
Yesterday, the sports guy asked the anchor who had the most Grand Slam championships and the anchor answered "McEnroe". lol Probably the only name he could come up with.
